May 8, 2013 By Jennifer @ PB and P Design 87 Comments

Hi Everyone!

Today I have for you a new recipe, a new product I tried and a giveaway!  Let’s get things rolling by giving you a little hint to today’s giveaway.  Here’s the clue:  It’s made with something that is good to eat that will help get you ready for bikini season, plus it’s healthy for you!

Creamy Tzatziki Sauce

Nope it’s not the sauce in the picture.  But since I am talking about my Creamy Tzatziki Sauce, I thought I should tell you a little about it.  It’s a wonderful creamy, healthy dip that is refreshing tasting, yet savory.  It’s made with greek yogurt, English Cucumber, lemon, garlic and fresh dill.  It’s an absolutely wonderful Mediterranean dip that is perfect to serve with a bowl of pita chips, to drizzle on a salad, dip in you veggies and for today’s giveaway.

Mediterranean Chickapea Burger

Opps, did I give any of it away?  Well, just hang on, I’m getting there.  I first want to tell you that the Creamy Tzatziki Sauce takes about 5 minutes to make and get this, it’s only 20 calories a 1/4 cup!  Your welcome, now you can indulge guilt-free.  I have been putting this sauce over my lunch salads, and I feel like I’m cheating having a creamy dressing, but it’s not, and I love it!!  Ok, here is today’s recipe!

Creamy Tzatziki Sauce

Are you ready for today’s giveaway?  I was contacted by MorningStar Farms to ask if I wanted to try their new Mediterranean Chickpea Burger.  Well, as you may know I am not vegan, nor vegetarian, but one thing I am is a Chickpea Lover.  So I thought, sure I’ll try it, it doesn’t hurt to try something at least once, you just never know if you will like it or not?  Though, I’ll be honest, I never had any kind of veggie burger, except for my black bean burger, and I was a tad scared.  So in case of an emergency I made a big plate of sweet potato tater tots.

Mediterranean Chickapea Burger

The first thing I do when I buy or try anything new is read the label.  The chickpea burger is only 11o calories a patty, 4.4 grams of fat, 13 carbs, 7 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein.  Wow!  That’s really awesome stats!   So I popped open my package and found there are several ways to cook it.  I can cook it in the microwave, in a skillet or bake it in the oven.  I decided to bake it in the oven.  I figured it would taste best that way.

Morning Star Chickapea Burgers

It took about 15 minutes and I was impressed, it didn’t leave any grease on the baking sheet.  I plated my patties, took pictures for you, then I took a bite.  It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and kind of reminded me of a samosa.  It was really good!  I was actually impressed with it!  Since I was eating Mediterranean for my dinner, I thought it would be perfect to top the Chickpea Burger with my Tzatziki Sauce.  I actually think these burgers would be great topped with hot sauce too!!  But I like hot sauce on just about anything.  The MorningStar Mediterranean Chickpea Burgers will be perfect for those evenings when your to lazy to cook or your craving a burger or plain and simple, you need to be good because summer is coming and I want to at least get my shorts over my waist!  🙂  Zipping them up is another story!  I also noticed that MorningStar also carries Spicy Black Bean Burgers.  You know I have to try those next!

Mediterranean Chickapea Burger

I bought my MorningStar Farms Mediterranean Chickapea Burger at Target.  My local grocery store didn’t have them in stock, but Target, oh my sweet Target has everything!!!  Oh I thought you should know, I ate both burgers and I only ate a few of my Sweet Potato Tots.  I gave a few of them to the dogs and threw the rest out.  Hmmm, that must be saying something for me to get rid of sweet potato tots.  I really did enjoy these burgers, and I am sure I’ll be eating them again this week and in the future!

Mediterranean Chickapea Burger

Ready for the giveaway?  It’s a fun little package that I got from MorningStar Farms!  It consist’s of the cutest little “I Love Chickpea” Bag, which my Husband said is perfect for the farmers market.  I got a wonderful cookbook that is all Chickapea/Garbanzo bean recipes. Plus a Greek Apron, which I wish I wore the other day because coconut oil splattered all over me, don’t ask!  Plus a $25.00 American Express gift card so you can buy your MorningStar Chickapea Burgers!

My favorite burger topping is cheese. If I’m eating a burger, I do want cheese melted on it. However, the tzatziki sauce may be all I would need for these chickpea burgers and much healthier.

I buy the ones they make especially for Costco; they’re bigger and thicker, but still around the same price as the smaller ones in regular supermarkets. Some memories are too precious to ever fade. 💙🐾 S Some memories are too precious to ever fade. 💙🐾

Sully passed away at only 2 years old from osteosarcoma, cancer of the bone. Losing him was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.

I created Sully’s Garden to keep his memory alive—to have a little place in our garden that would always remind me of my sweet boy. 🌿💙

His garden sign now has a special place in a planter, surrounded by flowers and love. Every time I see it, I think of Sully.

He may not be here beside me, but he will always be a part of our home, our garden, and my heart. 🌈🐾

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever Sully. ❤️

Hi Friends! I am absolutely loving Proven Winner Hi Friends!

I am absolutely loving Proven Winners’ Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth (Gomphrena pulchella)! This is my first year growing it, and I’m already thinking it will be back in the garden next year. 💗

It has the cutest bright pink, globe-shaped flowers, and this little flower loves the heat! When temperatures hit the mid-90s, the Truffula Pink really shines. ☀️

Oddly enough, I don’t get many monarch butterflies in my garden, but I had some visit this week—and they were hanging out on the Truffula Pink Gomphrena! 🦋💗

For that reason alone, I’ll definitely be growing it again next year!

🌸 Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth

Look at this river of pink! Supertunia Vista Bubblegum by Proven Winners burst with flowers this week.
🌸
During July Garden tour, my petunias were looking sad, hardly any flowers. I said how disappointed I was. I followed all the Supertunia rules, spray with BT and fertilize. Then I made a little bit stronger concotion of BT Spray and a few days later, the plant rewarded me with beautiful pink blooms.
🌸
Have the best day!

Happy Monday! I’m sharing with you a rare view of Happy Monday! I’m sharing with you a rare view of my kitchen. What’s so rare about it! It’s clean. 🤣
.
So this weekend our refrigerator broke. The freezer no longer works and the fridge is not getting cool enough. Ugh!! We bought our Whirlpool refrigerator about 4 years ago and spent near $3000 for it. It sure didn’t last long.
.
After reading reviews on a million refrigerators, they all seem like crap. I need your help! Do you have a refrigerator that you recommend?
.
I saw a Frigidaire one that we are debating on, but not sure? The reviews are good, but says, they were collected from a promotion. So I’m not sure how much I trust that? Anyway, any recommendations that you have would be great!
.
Have a great day!
