Hi Everyone! I thought I would share with you my easy, Valentine’s Day table that doesn’t have to cost a lot to put together. You probably have most decor pieces in your home to put together your own tablescape.
For styling my table, I used a lot of pieces that I used at Christmas. The table runner and the red napkins are a Christmas staple. The table runner is about two years old that I bought at Target. It’s my favorite table runner. I pretty much use it all year.
For the plates, I used my basic white plates that we use everyday. The white chargers are pretty old, I picked them up from Pier1. Oh how I miss that store. If you don’t have red, pink or white chargers, use a white dinner plate, and put a white salad plate on top.
One thing I do love to buy are appetizer plates. I have so many collections. I don’t ever buy a whole dinnerware set, but I will buy a set of 4 appetizer plates. It’s easier for storing, and I can change my whole table setting with just one plate. The heart plates were bought from Williams Sonoma last year, but they do have the plates again this year.
For the centerpiece, I used some simple red roses that I picked up at Trader Joe’s. If you have a Trader Joe’s, I highly recommend them for flowers. Great prices and a wonderful selection. You can always add a beautiful floral arrangement with some more color.
By the way, that is my sweet puppy Sully.
Since I don’t own a lot of Valentines decor, I decided to use candy as decoration. I picked up a bag of Gobstoppers from Target. I filled some in little ramekins and sprinkled some on the table. What’s nice about Gobstoppers, they don’t melt or stain your table.
My friend Jennifer has a cute Etsy shop (Birchlane by Jennifer), and that is where the wooden hearts came from. Of course if you are feeling creative and like doing DIY’s, you can pick up some wooden hearts from Hobby Lobby and possibly at the Target in the dollar spot area and paint them red, pink or white.
Do you celebrate Valentines Day? Honestly, we really don’t, but I do enjoy styling my dining room. There is something about having red hearts sprinkled everywhere. The hearts remind me of a store my parents used to take us to as kids in Niagara Falls, it was called Have a Heart. Such a fun store with lots of stickers. Yes, I collected stickers as a kid.
Have a wonderful weekend and a happy Valentines Day.
