Today I have for you one of my all time favorite coffee drinks the Skinny Caramel Latte. Why I have never made this at home, I will never know? This drink is so easy and cost efficient, after all paying $5.00 for a latte at your favorite coffee shop is a killer, especially if you do it everyday!
The drink is light, creamy and has the perfect amount of sweetness and a wonderful caramel flavor. I think I am in love. For the coffee I went to Smart & Final and bought Ambiance 100% Colombian Coffee Capsules which works great in my K-Cup coffee machine. I just brewed up a 1/2 cup of coffee and made the latte portion over the stove.
You can find the coffee in the coffee isle which has a ton of different coffees, syrups, add on’s like sprinkles and marshmallows, along with tea, non-dairy creamer and more.
I happen to find a display of Ambiance Coffee as soon as I walked in the door. I was surprised that it is only $5.99 for 12 coffee capsules. That is pretty inexpensive. I bought 100% Colombian and French Roast. Both are delish, but I am partial to the 100% Colombian because it is a medium roast.
For the latte part of the recipe all I did was add non-fat milk, caramel extract and stevia in a small sauce pan and over medium heat, I whisked it until it became frothy. It takes about 2 minutes or so. I poured it over my brewed Ambiance Coffee and fa-la, it’s all done and ready for me to drink. This really takes a matter of minutes to make. Well worth it.
Your probably noticing the sprinkles on top. Well I saw the cocoa sprinkles and I just had to have them. So I sprinkled them on top too. You can find the sprinkles in the Smart & Final coffee isle.
- ½ cup brewed coffee (I used Ambiance 100% Colombian from Smart & Final)
- ¾ cup non-fat milk
- 1 tbsp. caramel extract
- ¼ - ½ tsp. stevia (to taste)
- cocoa sprinkles (optional)
- In a small sauce pan add milk, stevia and caramel extract. Over medium-low heat, whisk milk constantly at a fast speed for froth, for approx 2 minutes or until milk is warm and frothy.
- Pour milk into coffee.
Yum, yum! I so love this drink. Now I will make this in the morning and have it for on my way to work. Nothing like a low-calorie, low carb coffee drink to get you going during the day.

What brand of caramel extract do you use?
I used Watkins brand. But I believe McCormick makes a caramel extract also.
