Dark Chocolate Peppermint Protein Shake

November 28, 2014 By Jennifer @ PB and P Design 6 Comments

Hi Everyone,

Happy Black Friday to you!  Big shopping plans?  For me, I’m staying in, well… I do have a craving to go to White House Black Market so I may pop in their today to buy a few winter sweaters since next week I’ll be heading to Philadelphia. For those who get up at the crack of dawn to do some shopping, today I created for you a Black Friday Dark Chocolate Peppermint Protein Shake that will fill you up, give you energy and help you get all the best Christmas deals.

Dark Chocolate Peppermint Protein Shake
This protein shake screams the holidays with rich dark chocolate and peppermint. For a boost of protein I added vanilla protein powder and to thicken it up I added a frozen banana. It’s so  thick, creamy and excellent to have during your holiday season.

This is my first-ever Black Friday in 10 years that I won’t be working and you don’t know how happy I am! I worked last night, but I got sent home early enough to drive to my sister’s house and still be with my family for about an hour and eat some turkey. I’m doing a LITTLE bit of shopping, but nothing crazy. I’m going to a hardware store (which is a place you would think wouldn’t be packed), but they open at 7 and supposedly there’s a huge line up for the deals. I only have two people left to shop for on Christmas and that’s my dad and my 5 year old nephew and for him I’m going to Target to get some good deals on board games. Have a happy Black Friday and feel better!!

Sounds delicious! What brand of protein powder do you use. There are so many kinds I just end up not buying any. I don’t do anything like marathon running but would like a powder to add to smoothies when drinking them as a meal.

Hi Vicki! I use Designer Whey Protein Powder. I buy it at the Vitamin Shop, GNC and even Trader Joe’s carries it. I’m like you and I use it as a meal replacement too.

Hi Martha! I use coconut milk from the carton. Do not use canned. That is high calories and it will make your drink greasy.

Hi Friends! I am absolutely loving Proven Winner Hi Friends!

I am absolutely loving Proven Winners’ Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth (Gomphrena pulchella)! This is my first year growing it, and I’m already thinking it will be back in the garden next year. 💗

It has the cutest bright pink, globe-shaped flowers, and this little flower loves the heat! When temperatures hit the mid-90s, the Truffula Pink really shines. ☀️

Oddly enough, I don’t get many monarch butterflies in my garden, but I had some visit this week—and they were hanging out on the Truffula Pink Gomphrena! 🦋💗

For that reason alone, I’ll definitely be growing it again next year!

🌸 Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth
• Annual
• Zones 9a–11b
• Height: 22–28”
• Spread: 22–26”
• Full sun ☀️
• Drought tolerant
• Pink flowers
• Great in containers or planted directly in the ground
• Low maintenance
• No deadheading required

Have you grown Truffula Pink Gomphrena? 🌸🦋

A beautiful day at Park Winters in Winters, Califo A beautiful day at Park Winters in Winters, California! 🌸🌿

My stepdaughter and I explored the flower farm, enjoyed lunch, made dried-flower wreaths, and discovered this peaceful little hidden gem in Northern California. We even spotted deer and monarch butterflies! 🦌🦋

There is so much to see and do here, and I highly recommend adding Park Winters to your Northern California day-trip list! 💐

Look at this river of pink! Supertunia Vista Bubblegum by Proven Winners burst with flowers this week.
🌸
During July Garden tour, my petunias were looking sad, hardly any flowers. I said how disappointed I was. I followed all the Supertunia rules, spray with BT and fertilize. Then I made a little bit stronger concotion of BT Spray and a few days later, the plant rewarded me with beautiful pink blooms.
🌸
Have the best day!

Happy Monday! I’m sharing with you a rare view of Happy Monday! I’m sharing with you a rare view of my kitchen. What’s so rare about it! It’s clean. 🤣
.
So this weekend our refrigerator broke. The freezer no longer works and the fridge is not getting cool enough. Ugh!! We bought our Whirlpool refrigerator about 4 years ago and spent near $3000 for it. It sure didn’t last long.
.
After reading reviews on a million refrigerators, they all seem like crap. I need your help! Do you have a refrigerator that you recommend?
.
I saw a Frigidaire one that we are debating on, but not sure? The reviews are good, but says, they were collected from a promotion. So I’m not sure how much I trust that? Anyway, any recommendations that you have would be great!
.
Have a great day!

My brother Sully 🐶 who is a 2 year old Yellow Labrador has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in March and has gone through radiation treatment and is currently doing chemo. He’s been really ill and mamas main focus has been taking care of him. She hopes to be back soon.
