A healthy way to have your cheese steak in salad form. Made with thinly sliced sirloin, peppers and onions and topped with Pepper Jack Cheese.
Serves: 4 salads
Ingredients
  • 1 lbs sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 8 cups romaine lettuce - chopped
  • 1 cup tomatoes - chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced thin
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • ½ tbsp. butter
  • 2 oz pepper jack cheese, shredded (I used a jack mix)
  • 8 Tbsp balsamic dressing, fat free
  • jalapenos & banana peppers (optional)
Instructions
  1. In a skillet add your sirloin. During cooking, keep shredding your meat with a fork into bite size pieces. Cook until no longer pink and reaches 160 degrees. About 12 - 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile in a separate skillet add butter, peppers and onions. Cook until tender about 10 minutes.
  3. To assemble salad:
  4. Evenly divide lettuce, tomatoes and sirloin between four plates. Add ½ oz of cheese to each plate than top with peppers and onions. The cheese will melt between the meat and the peppers and onions. Top each salad with 2 Tablespoons of balsamic dressing.
