Caramelized Apples in the Crockpot
Total time
- 1½ lbs apples (5½ large apples), cored, sliced
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- ¼ cup brown sugar or to taste
- 1½ tsp. stevia (3 pkts.)
- 1 cups apple cider
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- Spray the inside of the Crockpot with cooking Spray.
- In the bowl of the Crockpot, add apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugars. Mix until mixture is all over the apples.
- In a measuring cup add apple cider and cornstarch. Pour over the apples.
- Set the apples on low and cook for 3 - 4 hours until apples are tender. Half way between cooking time, stir the apples.
- Serve with ice cream or in yogurt, oatmeal or as a side dish with pork.
