Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing with you new products that I have recently tried out. One of my favorite things is getting out of my comfort zone and trying out new things. If I didn’t do that I would not have discovered foods such as sweet potatoes, calamari, salmon and having an egg on a burger. 🙂
Breakfast:
Vans 8 Whole Grain Waffles – These waffles are amazing! They come frozen and all you have to do is pop them in the toaster oven. In a few minutes you have nice warm, toasty waffles. The waffles are only 150 calories for two which is great for breakfast! They contain 7 grams of fiber which keeps you full and 5 grams of protein, plus only 2 grams of sugar. They have a slight cinnamon flavor to them too. I like to serve these with strawberries and a dollop of whip cream. I take frozen strawberries and microwave them for about a minute until they are hot and mushy and place it on my waffles with just a tad of natural maple syrup. Van’s 8 Whole Grain Waffles are also Non-GMO and is made with hearty whole wheat, oats, barley, brown rice, rye, quinoa, amaranth and millet. You can find these at your local grocer. I bought mine from Target. Oh and my Husband really loves them too, he ate almost a whole box in one sitting. 🙂
Lunch or Dinner:
Boulder Organic Soups – For dinner I tried the new Organic Boulder Soups. I had a craving for Tomato Soup, and when I was at Target I saw Boulder Organic Roasted Tomato Basil Soup. It is only 90 calories for a cup and I thought it would be perfect to pair with a grilled cheese sandwich. I warmed the soup up in a pan and oh la la, it tasted like homemade. It has a wonderful creamy flavor and I love the basil flavor in it. I meant to take a picture for you, but I was so hungry that I ate it all before I remembered to take a picture. Each soup is USDA Organic, Gluten-Free, and Non-GMO. Target only had 2 flavors in stock, but when I checked out the Boulder Organic Soups website they have 14 flavors. I want to try the Green Chili Corn Chowder, yum. I think you will be pleasantly surprised this soup and it is located in the refrigerator section of your grocery store.
Snacks:
Simply 7 Hummus, Lentil and Quinoa Chips – Let me tell you I took these to work to have everyone test them out and let’s just say we ate a whole bag in one sitting. Everyone loved them! We started out with the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Chips and they are light, a wonderful sweet pepper taste and oh so good. Then we opened the Salt & Vinegar Chips and they are my favorite. Just the right amount of tangy and salty flavor. The Sea Salt Lentil Chips are a nice basic potato chip flavor which I just love. The Cheddar Quinoa Chips have a nice cheesy flavor and are perfect for popping in your mouth. All of the chips were so good.
All of the chips are Non-GMO, gluten-free, vegetarian and kosher. They contain no Artificial Colors or Flavors and no preservatives. Each serving is about 130 calories, which is about 25-30 chips. Not to bad. It’s a great guilt-free snack. The chips are like a popped chip that simply melt in your mouth. I am very excited about these chips and I can’t wait to stock up on them. You can find them at your local grocery store. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Drinks:
INVO Coconut Water – I just love coconut water. It’s a great low calorie beverage that really hydrates you because it contains 5 essential electrolytes. Today I received some samples of Coconut Water from INVO. They sent me 3 flavors, Tropical, Pure and Sencha Green Tea. Each drink is 99% fat-free, under 100 calories per bottle and simply tastes refreshing. I honestly really love these drinks. The Tropical tastes like a nice, light, refreshing juice with a hint of mango and pineapple. The Pure is what it is a light coconut flavor, that is only 80 calories and is perfect for having after a workout. I love drinking the Sencha Green Tea as my mid-morning drink. It has a nice tea flavor and yet tastes lightly sweetened and is only 50 calories. If you are a coconut water fan you must try these drinks. Perfect for grabbing and having on the go, plus I do love how much it hydrates you, and you know what? When I drink it, it made me happy. Must have some kind of happy endorphin’s in it? So check it out on their website to see if you can find them located near you. In my area they are in Whole Foods.
On the Road:
Jamba Juice Island Pitaya Energy Bowl – I know how hard it is to be traveling and trying to find something healthy, light and filling to eat. I love that it is all natural and with one serving, I get my fruit intake for the day. I think you will love the beautiful purple color and the flavor. I really enjoyed the fresh bananas on top with the drizzle of honey.
