Hi Everyone,
Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week? Time is going way to quickly. I can’t seem to catch up. The summer flew by and now I am thinking of Christmas. I don’t even have a clue on what to get everyone for Christmas. But let’s take one holiday at a time, right? I have to be honest with you, Thanksgiving is one of my least favorite holidays. I spend all day in the kitchen cooking, yet you sit down to eat and it’s over in a matter of minutes. It doesn’t seem worth all the hassle, especially when it is just my Husband and I. This year I plan on making a simple meal, with all the trimmings, but not making it to complicated. Today I thought I would share with you some healthy Thanksgiving side dishes. I have a few new ones I want to make before Thanksgiving, so I better get off my butt and start cooking.
Bread:
Apple, Walnut, Sage and Cranberry Stuffing (I love stuffing!)
Cornbread and Apple Sage Stuffing
Cheesy Crescent Rolls (so easy)
Cranberry Sauces:
Cranberry, Pear and Rosemary Chutney
Vegetables:
Baked Delicata Squash with Pomegranate and Goat Cheese
Butternut Squash with Wild Rice
Brussels Sprouts with Fresh Cranberries
Sauteed Brussels Sprouts and Apples
Honey Glazed Roasted Carrots (blog favorite)
Cheesy Baked Corn (You may want to double this recipe, it’s so good and easy)
Scalloped Potatoes in Crockpot (Family favorite)
Honey and Cinnamon Glazed Sweet Potatoes (One of my favorites)
These are my favorite recipes for the Thanksgiving holiday. I actually love the side dishes more than the main meal. I’m not to big about the turkey. Maybe this year Ill make a beef roast?
Have a great day!
Toodles,
Jennifer
