Fairmont Scottsdale Princess #FoodiesInPhoenix

Hi Everyone,

Last week I got back from my trip from Phoenix, AZ and had the best time ever.  I was so inspired that I  have been bitten by the foodie bug and I have so many recipes I want to share with you.  But before I get to my recipes this week, I have to share with you the most amazing resort that I have ever stayed in.  It is the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort.  This is one resort that will please every one of all ages.  The resort sits on 65 acres and I have to admit I did not get to see everything, but I wanted to share with you what I have seen.  First off the beautiful grounds.  I had so many pictures, but thought a little collage would be best.

The resort has everything imaginable and you really have no reason to leave!  They have lots of shops, which I have to admit pretty decent pricing.  I bought two dresses for under $200.  They also have 6 restaurants on site; which include the following: LA HACIENDA BY RICHARD SANDOVAL, BOURBON STEAK, TORO LATIN RESTAURANT & RUM BARIRONWOOD AMERICAN KITCHEN, THE PLAZA BAR and POOLSIDE.  Plus one of my personal favorites, a full size Starbucks.  I got my Skinny Caramel Latte for breakfast, everyday.  I didn’t need a reason to leave the hotel at all!  You can only imagine how excited I was.  Just check it out!

The resort also has 3 Pools; the South Pool, Sonoran Splash and East Pool which all have full service bars, serving your favorite poolside cocktails and entrees.  When we got to the resort the first thing we all did was put on our bathing suits and meet up at the South Pool for girl talk, and cocktails.  One thing I didn’t see, which I wish I would have, was Sonoran Splash pool which has a water slide.  Perfect for the kids and adults.  With trips like this, the only problem is they have you on such a tight schedule that you do not get to enjoy all of the amenities the hotel has to offer.  At the South Pool I found the water warm, clear and has lounge chairs, cabana’s and waiters to come up to you asking if you would like some water, food or drinks.  I just charged it to my room.  🙂 Here are some photos of the South Pool.

For your fitness buffs they also have a 40,000 sq. ft. Well & Being Spa.  The Spa offers health, wellness, nutrition, fitness and advanced skincare.  I didn’t get to join the spa, but Susan and her daughter did one morning.  They did this:

That’s kind of not my thing.  Kind of scary if you ask me.  But I bet it was fun.  They also had this cool bike that had a blender on top.  Now this is more my speed.  I would love this bike for my home.  Workout and have a smoothie, my kind of living!  Hmmm…. I wonder how fast you have to peddle?

One thing I forget to mention which was my room.  I stayed in a Deluxe room with a king size bed.  The room also has a walk in closet, mini bar with refrigerator, and a balcony with a gorgeous view of the pool.  The bathroom was huge!  It had a double sink, a separate shower and bath tub, plus a scale so I can see how much weight I gained from all of the food I ate.  lol  I loved my room and only could imagine how gorgeous a suite would be.  After swimming, when I came back to my room I found a margarita bar and chips and salsa in my room.  How sweet is that?  Here is a picture of my room.

When I arrived to the hotel, you walk into the most stunning entry where you are greeted with smiles and welcoming hospitality. The bellman took my bags and walked me to my room and showed me around a little bit. His name was Jim and he was very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel offers a lot of nightlife with outside bars, lights and music.  It would be fun to hang out with the girls at the fire pits and chat.  It is also nice for a romantic evening too.  They also have a person who rides around on the bike and hands out Chandon.  I think that is pretty darn cool.

One of the main attractions to the resort is the Two Tournament Players Club Golf Courses.  Golf is not my thing, but I know a lot of people like to play it. I’m more of a pool kind of girl. It is the most recognized Scottsdale Golf Resort, Home to the Waste Management Phoenix Open.  Here is the link, since I do not know too much about golf to be honest.  But I can tell you I saw it and it is green and gorgeous. 🙂

The resort also offers lots of family friendly fun such as pool toys, games, snacks, pool raft rentals, basketball, fishing, activities and crafts for kids.  So much to do.  I kid you not, you really have no reason to leave.  I think I could live there?

I will be sharing with you more about the resort later on, like my meal at the LA HACIENDA restaurant.  Amazing food, amazing service and a wonderful, friendly chef.
