Hi Everyone,
It’s no secret to you, but I have been on a major smoothie kick. I have been having a smoothie or cold pressed juices for breakfast all week. I feel good! I have energy, I’m not hungry and honestly it seems ummm, well, the pimples are going away. lol I thought you get pimples when you’re a teenager, but not as an adult. Dam pimples! Anyway today I am sharing with you a new smoothie recipe that I had yesterday for breakfast. It’s not the prettiest in color, but it sure tastes good. My Husband looked at it and was a little afraid, then he tasted it and said yum, pineapple and strawberries. Yup! So why the funny color? It’s spinach. I figured I would add a handful of spinach in for an extra boost of nutrients.
This smoothie is made with all natural pineapple juice, frozen pineapple, strawberries and a heaping handful of spinach. You can check the picture out on Instagram. It may not be pretty, but it is full of good for you ingredients and I didn’t add any sugar. It is sweet enough from the pineapple. Oh and it’s creamy, and has the perfect combo of strawberries and pineapple. You can actually taste both in the smoothie. It’s perfect in my eyes and it has a nice tropical flair which I can use this time of year. I was going to call it a green monster smoothie, but it’s not green. I guess yellow and green make brown. lol
- 1 cup pineapple, frozen
- 1 cup strawberries, frozen
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 handful spinach
- Add all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
You can make the smoothie the night before and place it in the freezer. When I get up in the morning I let it sit on my counter to defrost. You can mash it in the bag and serve. Its easy doing it that way. But heck, with only 5 minutes to make, it takes really no time to make it fresh.
It’s going to be a crazy week for me, so I better stock up on smoothie ingredients. I’ll need the energy.
Have a great day!
Toodles,
Jennifer
My little sister just asked me for good green smoothie recipes, I’m totally sharing this with her. Thanks!
