Hi Everyone,
It’s been a while since I did a Yum Yum Wednesday post. I thought today I would share with you some new and old Trader Joe goodies. I am looking so forward to Fall shopping at TJ’s because all of the pumpkin goodies are going to be coming. Last year they told me they had over 100 items that contained pumpkin. I think I tried most and loved them all. Matter in fact, even though I didn’t post it, they have there canned pumpkin back in stock. It’s in the 90’s here, but I am ready for my Fall foods. So let’s get the Trader Joe’s party started.
First up is CowGirl Bark. This is a new item and I just had to try it. Probably a big mistake on my part. It’s a ginger cookie, topped with white chocolate, pretzels, nuts and cranberries. It is delish. I didn’t think I would care for it with the Ginger Snap, but it’s not real strong flavor and one little piece of bark satisfies my sweet tooth.
Chocolate Covered Cherries and Dark Chocolate Covered Caramel – I love both of these and hide them in my snack drawer at work. The Chocolate covered cherries is a favorite in the office and I have to hide my stash. The chocolate covered cherries are juicy, sweet and one is enough of them. Perfect for a chocolate craving. The Dark Chocolate Caramel is another favorite. It has a nice dark chocolate and a chewy caramel center. This would make for a great gift or serving on a platter. Again with this treat, one is enough.
Coconut Water – I have really grown to love coconut water. TJ’s price is good to. This container cost my $1.99, which I think is pretty in-expensive. Coconut water is great for when you dehydrated, plus, I kid you not, if you have a few to many drinks, have a glass of coconut water before bed. You won’t get a hangover or headache. Trust me on this one.
Peanutters – These cookies are addicting. 6 of them is one serving and 150 calories. they are crisp, and have little bits of peanut butter in them. It’s a family favorite. So if you don’t have time to make your own PB cookies, buy these. Just be careful because you can eat more than one serving in a matter of minutes. Highly addicting.
Squash – I love squash and what I love about the ones at Trader Joe’s is that you pick out whatever size you want at one price. Most stores sell squash by the pound, normally .99 cents a pound. At Trader Joe’s, the Delicata Squash is .99 cents, Butternut Squash $2.99, Acorn Squash $1.29 and the Kobacha Squash is $1.29. You can buy big ones or small ones at one price.
Cashew Butter – This a new nut butter and I love it. It tastes naturally sweet, has a small hint of salt and makes for a great sandwich. Plus I like to make raw cookie dough balls with it. It’s easier than grinding your own cashews.
Fig & Olive Crisps – I love TJ’s crisps. I always keep a box on hand. They make for great appetizer for parties, plus for me I love the texture of them. I like to dip them in hummus and cheese. These ones, have a nice fall flavor, a little bit sweet from the fig and right at the end you get the olive oil flavor. 11 crisps are only 90 calories.
Green Tea Lemonade and Mango Nectar. I have been buying the Mango Nectar for my smoothies, which I just love. Than I ran across the Green Tea Lemonade and I had to try it. It has a nice balance of sweetness and lemon flavor. I decided to mix the Green Tea Lemonade with the Mango Nectar, to copy Starbucks Peach Green Tea Lemonade. You know what? Subbing mango for peach and making a healthier drink is so much better than Starbucks. Plus it’s cheaper. For the recipe do the following:
- Fill a glass with ice cubes
- Add 1/4 cup Mango Nectar
- Add 1 cup Green Tea Lemonade
- Mix and serve
You will Love it!
Beer Battered Halibut (Gluten Free) – We buy this all of the time. it makes for a quick week night dinner. You do not notice that it is gluten-free. It’s cooks fast, crispy and perfect for fish and chips. They do carry a Beer Battered Halibut that we love too. But my family doesn’t notice the difference too much between the too and the nutritional stats and calories are less on the Gluten Free Battered Halibut, so that is what I have been sticking to.
Well that’s it for this edition of Yum Yum Wednesday. Do you have a Trader Joe’s favorite? Do tell. You Guys have told me in the past some of your favorites and have gone out and give them a try, so I am looking for more options.
Have a great day!
Toodles,
Jennifer

I have two TJ favorites to share.
One is the Healthy 8 chopped veggie mix that I use in a salad or as a salad on it’s own. Delicious and crunchy!
The other is the Quinoa Duo in the frozen section. Yummy!

I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in a while since I’m still trying to eat what I currently have in my freezer (it’s been jam packed for the longest time!). Plus, I’m having jaw surgery next week so I’ll be mostly stocking up on products to make smoothies with since I’ll be on a liquid diet for 2-3 weeks (I’m in carb Heaven right now!). I love all the ice creams at TR’s and their latest of the cookie spread in the ice cream version (can’t remember what it’s called). I also love their mini pumpkin pies. One is enough to satisfy me. I also love their sparkling juices, all the flavors really.
