Hi Everyone,
Last year I was invited to Baton Rouge for a foodie weekend. I would have never thought Baton Rouge for a fun food fest weekend, but you know what? I had the best food, met the nicest people, hung out with my food blogging friends and I swore when I left I would return one day. Well that day has come! One year later, I was invited back to Baton Rouge to catch up with my blogging friends and to explore more areas of Baton Rouge. I have never been so excited for a vacation. I hope you are following me on Instagram to check out all of the fun things I am exploring. One thing about events like this is I learn about new foods. Last year I had fried catfish, alligator, bread pudding, hush puppies and so much more. I think deep down I am a southern girl because I didn’t have one thing I didn’t love to eat. I took what I learned and brought it home to share with you, friends and family. So today I thought I would share with you a round-up of healthy southern dishes that I was inspired to make while visiting Louisiana. I can’t wait to see what I learn this year and what I will be making for you. I still want to make pralines since last year I tried and burnt them, not cool. So let’s get going on my round-up of Southern Dishes.
Mini Sweet Potato Hand Pies
Grilled Cajun Shrimp with Red Beans and Rice
Jambalaya and Corn Bread
Sweet Potato Pecan Pie Pancakes with Bourbon infused Maple Syrup
Banana Cream Pie Bars
I am just so excited to share with you more recipes in the next coming weeks from my trip to BR. If your ever interested in going to Baton Rouge you can check out these links.
