It’s officially grilling season, at least here in California! I love this time of year! So what goes best on the grill? Hamburgers, steak, chicken, pork, vegetables and my family favorite hot dogs. So today I thought I would share with you a low-calorie, healthy hot dog topping that is sweet, savory and mighty good! It’s my Sweet and Savory Mango Relish.
This relish is simply delicious! It’s made with mango, onion, jalapeno, cilantro and Farmer’s Garden Vlasic Baby Dill Chips. The flavor is sweet from the mango, spicy from the jalapeno and has a nice savory taste from the pickles. The pickles in this recipe really cool down the heat from the jalapeno. As you can tell I topped my hot dog with my mango relish and you know what? It tasted incredible and you don’t even need to add any additional topping. I have to say I was impressed! I teamed up with Farmer’s Garden by Vlasic to make this recipe. I have to be honest, I had a hard time coming up with a recipe because I simply like to eat my pickles plain, but after today’s recipe I changed my mind and so did the rest of my family!
Not only can you top hot dogs with this wonderful relish, but it would also be wonderful on hamburgers, chicken or even simply for dipping chips in it. It’s the perfect all around relish!! What’s even better it only takes about 10 minutes to make. Just chop your vegetables, fruit and pickles, mix together and refrigerate until ready to serve.
I was scoping out Farmer’s Garden website to see what kind of recipes they have on their site using these wonderful pickles. I have to say impressive! They have some great recipes from breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks! Yes drinks with pickles! You should check it out. I have leftover pickles and now I know what I can do with my leftovers, besides eat them! 🙂
- 1 cup mango, diced, peeled
- ¾ cup Farmer’s Garden by Vlasic Dill Chips, diced small
- ¼ cup onion, diced small
- ½ jalapeno, seeded, diced (add more to make spicier)
- ¼ cup cilantro leaves, diced small
- Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve. Top on Hot Dogs, Hamburgers or Chicken.

my simple moments in life are relaxing at home watching a movie with the husband or just cuddling on the couch with the kids.
My favorite simple moment is just those few moment of quiet and relaxation I have first thing in the morning with just me and a cup of coffee before the day starts!
My favorite simple moment is when I lay out back on a blanket in the grass with my dog happily staring into space.
Mango is one of my favorite summer flavors, this relish sounds like a great topping for just about anything you’d put on the grill!
Simple moments…far and few…I love the feeling of waking up in the morning, completely rested and ready for the day. For one split second, it’s quiet and there are no obligations, no rules, nothing…

I just like the silly days of hanging out at home and doing not much at all…
Sitting on the sofa, with my husband and the cats, with a fire going in the fireplace and a good book. Or on the gazebo with a glass of iced tea and a good book.

My simple moment in life is sitting around the dinner table with my family talking about the day.
Just kicking back around the house, taking a walk by myself, or reading a book
One thing I enjoy that seems trivial, is after I am done mowing and edging our lawn, I get great satisfaction blowing off the sidewalks. It is part being done, and part contrast between the grass covered sidewalk now being clean.
My simple moments are actually in the kitchen baking. I love to bake for family and friends….it’s very therapeutic and relaxing to me.
I love to read in the backyard lying in a hammock with a large glass of iced tea with lemon
My simple moments lately have been sitting in a folding chair watching my boys play baseball. Its not only fun but calming.
Waking up to a kiss from my dog:)
Cuddles with my baby
