Yum Yum Wednesday – Banana Cream Pie Smoothie

Hi Everyone,

Happy Yum, Yum Wednesday!  Today I have for you one of my favorite dessert smoothies.  This is my Banana Cream Pie Smoothie.  It is simply amazing and makes for a wonderful after dinner drink!  Well, ok you can have it anytime of the day!  It is just so good!! I was inspired to make this smoothie when I went to Baton Rouge last summer!  One of the best trips I ever took.  I saw banana cream pie desserts everywhere, so I thought why not a smoothie?  You know how I like a good smoothie!  Think I’ll make this tonight!  🙂  You can get the recipe here!

You know I can’t get out of Yum Yum Wednesday without some product reviews. Here are a few new things I have tried this past month.

First up isn’t really new as a products but it is new as a size. Justin’s Nut Butter now comes in single 1 tablespoon size packets, which are only 80 calories!  This is so perfect for packing in lunches or snack time.  I don’t know if you Guys are like me, but peanut butter is a weakness and I can seriously down more than a tablespoon, so I am happy for these smaller size packets!

Next up is Pasta Chips! These chips are quite different then your traditional potato chip or cracker. It really tastes like Pasta. Pasta Chips are made with semolina flour and Italian herbs, which give it the pasta taste. One ounce serving is around 120 calories. I took these to work and it seems everyone’s favorite was the Marinara. It was like having a little bite of crunchy pasta. Pasta Chips have some fun recipes on their website that you can use them in Skillet Bruschetta and Italian Nachos! My Husband took a bag of these to work and he enjoyed them for a different taste then just potato chips. You can find Pasta Chips at Target, Safeway, Cost Plus World Market and more. You can check them out here.  Oh and I loved the Alfredo flavor!

These are Eatrageous Chips! These little chips were quite impressive. They are Non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten Free and mighty delicious. I was quite impressed. They have Crunchy Mac & Cheese, Sea Salt, Sweet & Smokey BBQ and Wasabi Ranch. A bag of chips is only a 100 calories! They are crunchy, and really good. My favorite is the Sea Salt and my one co-worker LOVED the wasabi ranch and the other one that was a huge hit was the Mac & Cheese. I can’t get over that it really tasted like macaroni and cheese. It’s crazy!! You can check out the store locator to see if they are sold near you or you can buy them online! I have to say, I was really surprised on how good these were!  Here is the link.

Next up are Cosmos Creations. These are little bits of puffed corn. They are all gluten-free, trans-fat free, Kosher Dairy Certified, have no kernels or hulls and are made with non-GMO corn. They come in Coconut Crunch, Aged Cheddar & Cracked Pepper, Cinnamon Crunch, Salted Caramel, Caramel and Sea Salt & Butter. They are so good! My favorite is the Aged Cheddar and the Cinnamon Crunch, but oh the salted caramel is amazing too. They are light, airy and have a wonderful flavor! These little snacks are fairly low on the calorie scale too!!  I really enjoyed these little puffed treats and I don’t feel guilty eating them!  My co-workers loved them too and it seems the Sea Salt & Butter was the big hit in the office.  You can find them at your local grocer or you can check them out online here.

Last, but not least the most unique ice cream I have ever had. Magnolias All Natural Milk Bars and Ice Cream. Let me tell you, I really, really never had ice cream like this. They have crazy flavors like Mango, Coconut, Lychee, Thai Tea, Avocado and Purple Yam. Yes Avocado and Purple Yam flavors! That’s just the ice cream. They also have milk bars that come in Azuki Red Bean, Halo Halo, Purple Yam & Red Bean, Coconut, and Mango. Magnolia Ice Cream was very generous when they sent me samples to my work and boy did my co-workers have a hey day trying out the ice cream. We first opened the Avocado and yup, it tasted just like avocado. It is creamy, all natural and darn good!! The Thai Tea tastes just like Chai Tea. The Purple Yam, kind has a pistachio taste to it. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I like it. The Lychee has a strong fruit and floral taste to it. But I have to say my favorite is the Coconut and the Thai Tea. I actually really like the Thai Tea which is kind of surprising because I’m not a Chai Tea kind of girl.

Magnolia Ice Cream has been made in Northern California for over 40-years. They are currently available across the country in metropolitan areas, sold at Whole Foods, Walgreens, Safeway, Bristol Farms, H.E.B. Morton Williams, Gourmet Garage, Market Street, Kings, Balduccis, and Stinky Brooklyn to name a few. With all the great unique flavors they have I am sure they will be working their way across America. You can check out all of their fun flavors and store locator here.

Well my Friends that’s it for another Yum, Yum Wednesday! I have to say I am enjoying writing these posts. I just need to get out there and try new things. I have a few Trader Joe items I want to try out this week!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Toodles,

Jennifer
