Cherry Spritzer Ice Cream Float #SundaySupper

February 9, 2014 By Jennifer @ PB and P Design 70 Comments

Hi Everyone!

Today for #SundaySupper our mission is to make a Valentine’s for two.  That is pretty easy in my house because it’s normally just the Hubby and I and I put love into every meal, so I guess I make Valentine’s for two everyday. lol  Today’s recipe is something quite different, but it really screams Valentine’s Day to me and nope it doesn’t contain chocolate, but does contain ice cream!!!  And you know I love ice cream!!  So let me share with you my Cherry Spritzer Ice Cream Float! Cherry Spritzer Ice Cream Float

This float is fantastic! It’s sweet, yet has a slight tartness to it, bubbly and simply the perfect romantic drink! It’s made with all natural tart cherry juice, sugar, all natural vanilla ice cream and the best part, the champagne. This was a random recipe I had in my head and I couldn’t wait to make it. In the morning I have about a 35 – 45 minute commute and as I am driving I spend my time thinking of recipes and as soon as I get to work I write them down so I don’t forget. This recipe was one of those thoughts.
Cherry Spritzer Ice Cream Float
Not only does the float taste delish, but I also think it is so pretty. It has a beautiful red color and with the champagne and the ice cream, it has a frosty look too. This is the perfect after dinner Valentine’s drink. You can have this and skip dessert. Plus it’s only 140 calories! Not to shabby for a sweet drink!

Thank you Renee! It came out better than I thought with the color of layers. When I got ice cream on the sides of the glass, than poured the juice and champagne over it, it gave it that frosted look. And to think at first, I was upset because I could just drop ice cream in the glass without hitting the sides. 🙂

Having kidney disease I have to limit potassium- can be deadly to many people with kidney issues. I noticed that your nutrition facts are way off as dairy and cherry juice we very high in potassium and the recipe stats record 0. II believe you made an honest error but mention this simply to let know you may wish to reconsider your nutrition info sources to avoid dangerous miskakes in the future

~M🌼Y your day be filled with happy moments and beautiful flowers!

I decided to create a zinnia garden this year and I am so excited to see it bloom. A few flowers started to show. I didn’t want Sully 🐶 in the garden, so I put a fence around it. It worked for about 3 weeks. I was on stories yesterday, showing other parts of the garden and I turned around and saw Sully in my garden. I must have screamed so loud. He was stuck in there and panicking because I was. I got him out and no damage to any of the flowers. That was scary!

I am so happy we were actually able to pick cherries. We missed out the past couple of years. The season comes up so fast and only lasts a couple of weeks. Plus it gets so busy that the traffic is awful. That’s one thing about California is the traffic is so bad here that it takes the joy out of doing things. But not this year! I got my cherries!!

It must be all the crazy weather. We’ve had high winds since last Tuesday and temps in the 70’s. Tomorrow mid 90’s, then back to the 70’s. No wonders my allergies are acting up.
🌸
I’ve been adding a little decor to my patio area. I love adding pillows and blankets for pops of color and to give a cozy feel. One of my newest additions is my new Verdure Wooden Candle Lantern that I got from @icosiest_furniture. It adds a romantic ambience in the evening.
🌸
The lantern is made from Fir wood and has a beautiful jute handle. The lantern can be hung or placed on a table. The candle is battery operated and looks so beautiful flickering in the evening. Swipe the photo to see it.

I love the style of the lantern and it would also look fabulous styled indoors. I can see the lantern on a shelf, centerpiece or on a console table.

Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. We had Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. We had such beautiful weather. It was in the 70’s and sunny. I did a lot of work outside. Got some plants planted and rearranged my patio because I was #gifted a new dining set from @alphamartsus
🌷
I am so excited to have an outdoor dining set. It’s going to be so fun to eat dinner outside, in front of my zinnia garden and water fountain. I’m so excited, you have no idea.
🌷
The dining set is the PHI VILLA Rattan Dining Chairs Set with Extendable Table Patio Dining Set. The set I have is the 9 piece, but they also have a 7 piece set. You have your choice of chairs, cushioned or high back. I like the high back. The chair gives great support and is so comfortable to sit on.
🌷
The table is made of high quality metal with a special powder coating that will with stand the outside elements. The table is 60” long but can be extended to 83”. It’s so easy to extend the table. The leaf is built in and just flips to make the table longer or shorter. Swipe to see the leaf and how long the table is extended. The first few pictures, the table is extended to 60”.
🌷
For more information on the dining set, check out my highlight. The link for Alpha Mart is in my bio.
🌷
Do you like to entertain outside?
