Hi Everyone!
Happy Smoothie Monday to you!!! Today I have for you a fun, tropical, healthy, no sugar added smoothie that will sure to take you to the beaches. Well ok, I only wish a smoothie can take me to a beach, especially this time of year, but we can imagine it. One thing I have to say is forgive the pictures. I made this in the morning at the wrong lighting, so don’t let that fool you, this smoothie is mighty delish and get this, Husband approved!!
This smoothie, is naturally sweet, full of protein, virtually no fat and is so thick and creamy. It’s truly the perfect smoothie mixture. It’s made with wonderful strawberries, pineapple and banana and it’s belly approved!I have been reading about food that will help flatten your belly and help take off some unwanted pounds and everything in this smoothie is for helping shed belly fat!
As I said I made this smoothie in the morning while my Husband was working on the car. I went in the garage to give him the smoothie and he said not now, I have to paint. So I put it in the fridge for him. I went to take a shower and when I came out, he had the San Francisco game on and I heard slurp, slurp. You know that annoying sound hear when someone slurps the bottom of the glass with a straw? Well that was magic to my ears, because I knew he liked the smoothie. He even said this was really good. I didn’t tell him their was greek yogurt in it because if he knew he would have said yuk! lol
- 6 oz greek yogurt, plain
- ½ banana, frozen
- ½ cup strawberries, frozen
- ½ cup pineapple, frozen
- ½ cup coconut milk or milk of choice
- Add all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.

So what makes this smoothie so healthy? The fruit in this smoothie have a balanced glucose to fructose ratio, meaning it will be easier on your digestive track. Also the bananas are high in potassium, filled with fiber and B6 which helps the blood sugar regulate. The strawberries are filled with antioxidants, vitamin C and actually can help prevent wrinkles. More strawberries please!! They also regulate your blood pressure, help prevent cancer and last but not least, help with diabetes 2 and heart disease. There are more benefits, but I won’t go on. Just eat your strawberries, just be sure to wash them first.
Pineapple is full of antioxidants, helps the immune system (meaning no colds), strengthens bones and gums, lowers the risk of Macular Degeneration which is vision loss and alleviates arthritis. I could go on, but I won’t!
Coconut milk is full of vitamin E, loaded with minerals, it’s a healthy fat and helps stabilizes blood sugar. As for greek yogurt, you already know! It’s full of protein, low sugar, low carbs, good source of calcium, potassium, zinc, B6 and B12 and filled with healthy good for your belly probiotics.
Well that’s it, for me today. I am off to Costco to look at the Vitamix blender. They had a demo yesterday, but I didn’t go to it like a dummy! Now I regret it. The blender I have is just horrible, and I need some power baby!
Have a wonderful Monday!
Toodles,
Jennifer

My favorite thing to make in a slow cooker is Swiss steak. I use a pound of thin round steak, pounded even thinner, cut it into 3 to 4 inch “squarish” pieces, which I then salt, pepper, and dredge in flour. I heat some oil in a skillet and brown the pieces on both sides; layer them in the slow cooker with sliced onion, celery, and crushed whole tomatoes with the juice (1 large can). Cook on low for several hours, or until the meat is fork tender. Serve over mashed potatoes. This is a family favorite and so easy!
