Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday Smoothie to you!! Since it’s the holiday time I thought I would share with you a holiday smoothie that will for sure put you in the holiday mood! Today’s smoothie is sweet, with a little hint of spice and is simply perfect for all those Gingerbread lovers out there!!
This is my Gingerbread Smoothie! This smoothie is creamy, smooth, gluten-free, vegan and just plain fun!! It’s made with coconut milk, banana, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and ice. The combination of flavors is perfect. You get a little hint of banana, a little pop of vanilla and of course a wonderful ginger flavor. The molasses in this drink is what really make this drink taste like gingerbread!! Plus I feel that the flavors are not overwhelming, but has a perfect balance of spices. I am not the biggest gingerbread person, but I do love it once in a while, especially at Christmas time. After all who can resist a gingerbread man? I’ll take any man who is sweet as a cookie. lol
Do you like my little Gingerbread men? I made them myself! No, I’m just kidding! I bought them at Trader Joe’s! They were so cute I couldn’t resist. Plus they are only 120 calories for 3 and they have a nice fudge frosting. I thought they were the perfect companion to my smoothie!!!
- 1½ cups coconut milk from carton or milk of choice
- 1 small banana, frozen
- ¼ tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. ginger, ground
- ⅛ tsp. cloves, ground
- 1tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp. molasses
- ¼ tsp. stevia or sugar to taste
- 1 cup ice
- Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
I thought I would share with you some of my Gingerbread recipes from the past couple of years. I only have a few, but they are good especially my Gingerbread Pancakes! Oh yah!!!!
This next recipe is my Gingerbread Loaves. I made this recipe two years ago, when I started blogging, so they are not the best pictures, but it is good bread. I really need to update my pictures. I love that I made them in three mini loaf pans, that way I can add different toppings to it, like crystallized ginger.
This is my last gingerbread recipe. This is my Gingerbread Frappe. Today’s recipe is based on of this frappe. I love it so much and I have already made this a couple of times this season. I love my holiday coffee drinks!
I just love the holiday time!! I just don’t like how fast it is coming up. How are you doing on your Christmas shopping? I have done a little, but I still have lots to go. It’s crazy how fast time is going. I need to make an extra effort this week to get out there and finish my shopping. Normally I’m dine by now.
Well my Friends! I guess I should go wrap some of the presents that I do have.
Have a great day!
Toodles,

Hi, sorryI tried it and it was so not nice. I ended up putting 4 bananas in to dilute the cloves taste but my tongue is still burning 🙁 i looove gingerbread but havent found any recipe which actually tastes like gingerbread and not of cloves and molasses 🙁

Hi Mina, I am so sorry that you didn’t like my recipe! Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate your honesty.

The molasses was a bit overwhelming for me as well. I tweaked the recipe some by adding vanilla protein powder and that helped. 👍🏼

I loved this smoothie!!! I skipped the molasses and stevia and replaced it with a little bit of lite corn syrup. Also, instead of measuring the spices, I used a little bit at a time and added as I went until I had the desired amount of spice. Overall, I loved this fast, easy–and not to mention delicious–smoothie. I think that you should definitely try this smoothie.

This sounds delicious except for the banana. 🙁 I really don’t like banana. What role does the banana play in the recipe and is there something I could substitute for the banana? I’d really like to try this. Thank you!
