Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin w/ Steamed Broccoli #SundaySupper #GGHoliday2013

December 8, 2013 By Jennifer @ PB and P Design 50 Comments

Hi Everyone,

Today is a special edition of #SundaySupper.  I was chosen to try out Gourmet Garden Herbs and Spices and boy oh boy are they good!!!  Actually so good I have made three recipes using them this week.  The first one I will share with you today and the other I’ll share with you later in the week.  I have to say I was so excited to try Gourmet Garden Herbs and Spices because I have seen them at the grocery store but never bought them because, well to be honest, I wasn’t sure how they worked?  But now that I know, I don’t know how I have gone so long without using them?
Gourmet Garden #SundaySupper #GGHoliday2013
They come in a huge selection of flavors from garlic to lemon grass to chili pepper to basil. There are so many flavors to choose from. When making today’s recipe I hard a hard time choosing my flavors, but I went with garlic, Italian Herbs and Dill. The recipe I made is Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Steamed Broccoli. The pork turned out tender with the right amount of herbs and the steamed broccoli was the perfect complement to the dish. This recipe is super easy to make and only takes one pan to make it all. You have to love quick, easy and delicious.
Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin and Steamed Broccoli
To make I mixed the Garden Gourmet Herbs with some olive oil and rubbed it all over my pork tenderloin. I roasted it in the oven and once the pork was done, I let it rest so all of the juices would go back into the meat. When the pork was resting, I used the same pan the pork was cooked in and steamed my broccoli. To add some flavor to my broccoli I used Garden Gourmet Garlic Paste and with the flavor left in the pan and garlic paste, it made for a fabulous flavorful broccoli. It was so good my Husband even ate the broccoli which is saying something!! The man doesn’t like vegetables.  When I asked him which recipe should I post using the Garden Gourmet, he insisted on the pork and broccoli.  He said he really enjoyed that dish.
Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin and Steamed Broccoli
This is one great dish and makes for a wonderful week night meal or for serving at a little dinner party with a side of french bread. We just loved it and the leftovers were just as good the next day! I actually nibbled on the cold broccoli! If you are unsure how you use Gourmet Garden Herbs and Spices, it’s like using fresh herbs in a one-to-one ratio, or it can be used in place of dried, typically in a 2 to 1 ratio. The pastes are so fresh smelling and when the pork was roasting you can smell all of the fresh herbs which made the house smell amazing. I didn’t have to call anyone to dinner because they could smell it and they were waiting for it.

Tender, juice herbed roasted pork tenderloin served with a flavorful garlic infused steamed broccoli.
Serves: 4 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 lbs pork tenderloin
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. Gourmet Garden Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp. Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs Paste
  • ½ tsp. Gourmet Garden Dill Paste
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • **For Broccoli**
  • 12 oz bag Broccoli Florets
  • ½ tsp. Garden Gourmet Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Let pork sit out for a few minutes to take the chill off of it. This prevents the pork from sticking to the pan.
  3. Rinse pork and pat dry and season with salt and pepper. Place pork in an oven safe skillet and over medium heat, sear all sides of the pork, turning about every two to three minutes. When one side is seared, turn the meat over. Once browned remove from heat.
  4. Meanwhile in a bowl add 1 tablespoon olive oil, Gourmet Garden Garlic Paste, Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs Pasta and Gourmet Garden Dill Paste. Mix well.
  5. With a pastry brush, brush all sides of the pork with herb mixture. Add ¼ cup of chicken broth to bottom of skillet and place in the oven for 35 minutes or until pork is cooked to 160 degrees. About half way through check to see if the liquid is evaporated, if so, add a pinch more chicken broth.
  6. While pork is cooking add broccoli to a bowl.
  7. In a small bowl add olive oil, Gourmet Garden Garlic. Pour garlic mixture of broccoli, mix well and let it sit for a few minutes, while you wait for the pork to finish cooking.
  8. Once pork is fully cooked, place onto a cutting board and cover with aluminum foil and let it rest for 5 minutes. Cut into slices.
  9. Meanwhile while pork is resting add broccoli to the pan the pork was in (discard any liquid in the pan, but don't wash the pan), add vegetable or chicken broth, cover and steam for 5 minutes until broccoli is fork tender.
  10. Add sliced pork and broccoli to serving plate.

Herb Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Steamed Broccoli

I really love simple dishes like this and it’s a big bonus when my super picky Husband loves it!!! He must have, since he even ate the broccoli. lol This week I made my Jalapeno and Cilantro Hummus, but I was out of cilantro, so I used Gourmet Garden Cilantro Paste and WOW, it was better and easier to use than actual cilantro. I used just a little bit of cilantro paste and it really made my hummus pop. I did take a picture of it on Instagram if you would like to take a look.

You can check out Garden Gourmet Herbs and Spices website for some yummy recipes, plus they even have a free e-book cookbook to download.  You can find Garden Gourmet Herbs and Spices in the refrigerated product section  found in the fresh produce section near the fresh herbs.  You can also check them out at the following:

  • Garden Gourmet Herbs and Spices Website
  • Send them a tweet on Twitter
  • Check out recipes and information on Facebook
  • Check out all of the yummy looking pictures on Pintrest

Well I truly love these pastes and love how easy they are to use.  When you open them you can smell the freshness, plus it’s so much nicer then trying to keep your herbs alive.  So be prepared I will using these a lot in my recipes!

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out the other recipes that the #SundaySupper crew made using Gourmet Garden Herbs and Spices.

Have a fabulous day!

Toodles,

Jennifer

What a great idea to put the herb pastes on the pork tenderloin. The pan juices (or gravy) after baking must be beyond incredible.

Happy Thursday! A couple weeks ago I was inspired Happy Thursday! A couple weeks ago I was inspired to clean under my kitchen sink from my friend Claire @huntersridge_designs. Let me tell you I couldn’t be happier.
🧽
When I opened my cabinets, everything fell out. I had like 10 million Target bags jammed in the back, sponges everywhere and 1/2 empty bottles of cleaners.
🧽
I measured my space in the cabinet and was lucky enough that the items Claire purchased for her under the sink were the exact fit for my cabinet.
🧽
The drawers are a game changer. Highly, highly recommend the drawers. I filled them with sponges, and dishwasher tabs. Now they are not lost and easy to grab.
🧽
The storage bins were purchased on Amazon. Check out Claire’s Instagram page for links.

Happy Tuesday! One thing you guys know about me is Happy Tuesday! One thing you guys know about me is that I love Target. It’s my happy place. I get so excited each season to see all the new things that come out.
🌿
One thing I always love is there faux vase/pot flowers and plants. They are always so pretty and I want to buy them all. But there a couple of things that stops me. The biggest one is that I have no storage for them. Two, they seemed to have gone up in price. They seemed a little pricy to me.
🌿
For my arrangement, I used one of my canisters for the bathroom. I used floral foam to stick the stems in and I used the paper towel as a filler because I only had very little bit of moss. If I had more moss and I would probably not use the paper towel. This arrangement cost me $5.99.
🌿
Tip: If you look at Targets faux foliage stems only, they have a lot that are same of what use in there vases. The one I used was Hearth and Hand and was only $5.99 for a stem. The exact ones they used in there pots.
🌿
Hope you enjoy this as much as I have making it.
Enjoy your day!
