Chocolate Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Hi Everyone,

Today I have for you what I call the man smoothie.  Well it’s not actually called the man smoothie, but it’s called Chocolate Banana Breakfast Smoothie.  But why do I call it the man smoothie?  Because it’s healthy, and I made it just for my Husband.  You know how healthy he is, ha ha and some how I have to sneak nutrition into him and what better way then through chocolate?

I made this smoothie using Kellogg’s To Go Breakfast Shakes.  When I made this I told my Husband that it’s Kellogg’s newest chocolate drink.  He heard Kellogg’s and chocolate and said ok.  I told him, I wasn’t sure if he would like it.  In my head I was thinking too healthy for him.  He took a sip and said it’s good and he drank it all.  Ha ha I got him and got him good.  The Kellogg’s drink is a nice protein drink, it doesn’t leave that chalky after taste that you can sometimes get with protein shakes.  That’s why I am normally not a fan of these kind of drinks.  But so far I tried the Kelloggs To Go Chocolate Breakfast Shake and it’s pretty good and my Husband likes it which is a bonus.  They also have two other flavors, strawberry and vanilla.  I debated about trying the strawberry, but I had breakfast already, plus I was making this for Hubby and he is a HUGE chocolate lover!  But to my surprise, he actually loved the strawberry flavor the most!  He said the strawberry tastes between Captain Crunch Berries and Strawberry Quick. He asked if I can stock him up on the strawberry.  I can’t believe he liked strawberry the best.  I was so surprised.

The drink is super easy to make.  All I did was add the Chocolate Breakfast Shake, banana and ice.  Give it a good blend and out comes a rich, creamy, chocolaty smoothie.  The flavor is mostly chocolate with a hint of banana.  I really like banana and chocolate together, which you probably already know by now.  I bet adding some peanut butter to it would be incredible.  Why didn’t I do that?  I guess because Husband doesn’t like peanut butter.  Now that I think about it, I don’t think he likes to much food, unless it’s meat, potatoes and chocolate.  Wow!

In the calorie section of the recipe, I also included the nutritional value, so you had an idea of how good of a drink this is for you.  Check out the Vitamin C and E.  The calories are a little high for me, but not for my Husband, since he is moving all day and is on his feet at work.  So it feels really good to make such a healthy breakfast or snack for him.  The man is so skinny he could use all of the calories he can get, especially good for you calories.

Next time you’re at the store, check out Kellogg’s To Go Breakfast Shakes and Breakfast Shake Mixes.  Give them a try and let me know what you think.  Once I try the vanilla and strawberry I’ll let you know how they are.  I look forward to trying the strawberry.  Yum!

Well my Friends, time to get ready for dinner.  Little Jenny is taking me out!  I think we are going to a Hibachi Grill.

Have a great day!

Toodles,

Jennifer

P.S.  I was given samples of Kellogg’s to Go Breakfast Shakes and Mixes, however all opinions are my own.
