Hi Everyone,
I’m giving you two smoothie this week, just because I couldn’t wait to share today’s smoothie with you. It’s magical! Ok, maybe not magical, but darn good! I was so excited yesterday to share my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls with you, that today I made the part two of my creation. Part two wasn’t intentional but I saw balls and saw a banana sitting next to each other in the freezer, and they said, Jen, please combine us and make us into a yummy drink. I said ok, why not! Who am I to argue with food? So the combination of the two made the most delicious smoothie.
This smoothie, is so creamy, so smooth and is almost like a milkshake. The taste is the combination of a sweet banana with crushed chocolate chip cookies. Oh my gosh!! This is the perfect little drink. I have had this a couple of times for my dessert. I need to keep these dough balls in stock and banana’s two. At this time I am out of both and I can’t have that happen, so needless to say I’ll be buying banana’s and making more balls very soon!
If I had more than a half of a banana in the freezer, I would have added more banana and made it into a blizzard and topped it with more Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls. That’s it, after this post I am going to the store and getting more banana’s! Anyway, this drink is healthy, sweet, full of protein and contains natural sugar. It really is the perfect smoothie. I have had a terrible sweet tooth lately and I have been craving chocolate chip cookies. I try to contain myself from making them, but it’s hard. I used to make chocolate chip cookies weekly for my Husbands lunch, which is fine, but making them was so bad for me because I would eat the batter. Way to much batter, so I refrained from making them. My Husband isn’t to happy about that. The past couple of months I have lost 10lbs. and I know one of the reasons is not eating snacks at night, which includes making chocolate chip cookies. So I have been trying to be good, trying and it’s so hard. With vacations this summer, it has been tough. Matter in fact next week I have a mini vacation next weekend and it is all food related. You can bet my butt I will be at the gym everyday until then. I must be good, I must be good!! Sigh… Why does food have to be fattening and so good. Ok, I’m rambling and getting away from the fact that I made a healthy smoothie, so let’s talk about that more!
If you haven’t made my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls, you must make them. They are healthy for you and they are so yummy mixed into this smoothie. This smoothie wouldn’t be this smoothie without them. So grab your nuts and start grinding. Hmmm, that sounded kind of naughty. Are you thinking that way or is it just me? Dirty nuts!!!
- ½ large banana, frozen
- ½ cup non fat milk or milk of choice
- ½ cup greek yogurt, plain 0% fat
- 1 tsp. maple syrup
- ⅛ tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls, frozen
- 1 cup ice
- Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
I know I have said it before but I love making smoothies. There is like a bazillion combinations and you just never know what combination goes together. I already made another smoothie, I call it the man smoothie that I will share with you on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend! Be sure to get your bananas and make your balls!
Toodles,
Jennifer
