Howdy Everyone!
Welcome to Smoothie Monday! I missed smoothie Monday last week and I think my Husband did too! But today I made up for that! I am sharing with you a new smoothie that healthy, nutritious and is sure to make the palate happy. I was asked to try a new organic juice and you know how I like my drinks, so of course I said yes! Let me tell you its fabulous! It’s so fabulous that my Husband can’t keep his hands off it! Do you have any idea how many times I heard, can I drink that? I tell him no, I need to share with my readers first!! He has been antsy about it, waiting for me to make my smoothie. Sorry Husband I waited two weeks before I made my smoothie, well now he is a happy camper because I made today’s recipe just for him!
This is my Blueberry Banana Acai Smoothie! It’s rich with flavor, smooth going down and very healthy for you! I made this yesterday morning and gave it to my Husband while he was working in the garage. He was so happy!! I think this maybe his favorite smoothie so far. He really likes the juice. He said the smoothie, is sweet, a little creamy and has a hint of banana. So what is this magical juice that I used in the smoothie? It’s Sambazon Original Acai Superfood Juice. Sambazon contacted me to see if I wanted to try it, but before I accept any product I always read the label. All good stats with Sambazon!! It’s organic, natural and has natural sugar in it. I happy that my Husband loves this juice because it makes me feel good to give him something healthy. Beats fruit juice that is loaded with sugar that he always drinks.
It took me a while to post this recipe because the closest location to me that carries SAMBAZON is Whole Foods and Whole Foods is about 40 miles or so from me. It’s a special trip to go there. However, last week, I went to a super big Safeway and what did I see a ton of Sambazon flavors! I was so happy to see that. I rarely go to this Safeway because it is out of the way for me, but it’s way closer than Whole Foods and now I have a good excuse to go. The flavors I saw that I can’t wait to try are Chocolate Almond Coconut Milk, Mocha Java, umm yum!! And they even had Acai Berry and Chocolate! Oh man! I happened to be going peach picking and the store that carries them is near where I’ll be. You know where I’ll be heading after peach picking! 🙂
- 8 oz Organic Sambazon Acai Original Juice
- 1 medium banana, frozen
- ½ cup blueberries, frozen
- ¼ cup coconut milk, unsweetened
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
The sugar is all natural sugars!
I really do like this drink and I love that it is vegan, gluten free, contains no GMO and is organic! Not to mention the company is here in Sunny California. You can check out the SAMBAZON website for some yummy looking recipes, locations and more information about their products. When I was on their website earlier I noticed they have a 3 day cleanse that I think is at Costco. I have never done a cleanse before but I am curious about it. I have to look into that. if I do it, I’ll let you know!
Have a happy and healthy week! I have some wonderful summertime recipes planned for you this week!! So stay tuned.
Have a great day!
Toodles,
Jennifer
P.S. I almost forgot to tell you! Today I start a 30 day, 10,000 a day step challenge from Mamavation. I will be trying out the new Omron Tri-Axis USB Pedometer. I have to track everyday and announce my progress each day on twitter. I plan on also Instagraming my results too. I am happy to be apart of this challenge because this is what started me on my weight loss journey! Walking is an amazing exercise that works the whole body! I lost 10lbs, the first month I started to walk. It’s going to be tough, but I know I can do it! I would love it if you would join me! It would be fun! You can tell me each day how many steps you took! Share it on Instagram or Twitter and link it in my comment section, inspire all your friends, fellow readers to get out there and walk. So grab a pedometer and join me on this 30 day challenge!!
Costco (at least my local one) also carries the original Sambazon açai juice. You might check your Costco for the frozen pulp, because some stores carry it. We’ve been making açai bowls for breakfast using the frozen açai pulp – that’s a favorite breakfast in Brazil, where the berries are grown. I would use the frozen pulp in this smoothie (1 packet) and also add vanilla protein powder. I like the idea of putting açai in smoothies as well as the bowls. And a vegan protein powder would work as well as the whey powder I use.
I think I am the only person in the country without a Costco membership. I think I am going to ask for one for my birthday! I need to go to Costco. I want to make acai bowls too! 🙂
Ooo I love this! This definitely a must-try! 🙂
Thanks Kelly, if you try it, let me know what you think! 🙂
I love getting the Acai smoothie at Jamba Juice, but your version is healthier and less expensive! I am going to have to give a swirl and make this tasty version!
Thanks Laura! This was the first time I ever had acai and I love it! As much as I like Jamba Juices smoothie, I stay away, so many calories, it’s crazy! 🙂
Looks delicious!! I’ll have to try it!
Thank yo Kristi! 🙂
