OREO Cookies and Cream Smoothie

Hi Everyone!

Yah, it’s Friday!!  Woohoo!!! This weekend is my Pretty Muddy Run.  I’m excited and a little afraid.  How am I going to do on a 5k obstacle course in the mud and the sun?  My run is at 9:15am, but it’s suppose to hit in the 100’s in Sacramento, so it is going to be hot.  I have been good, hitting the gym four days in a row, which is like a record for me.  I have been on the treadmill, elliptical, bike and the horrible stair climber, plus I have been practicing on the rope machine.  My arms are sore, so today I am going to take it easy and I am just going to do some yoga and stretching.  I’m trying to get all geared up to do my run without practically killing myself.  I am sure I will fill you in on the run next week.  Since I have been so busy between work, the gym, making dinners and blogging, I am going to make it short today.  Today I have for you another smoothie recipe, I know, I know, but it’s hot out and I have been on a sweet kick all week, plus a smoothie kick so I am bringing you another smoothie recipe.  I hope you don’t mind.

This isn’t the healthiest smoothie in the world, but it’s also not bad.  I believe in moderation of sweet treats and I did try to make it as healthy as I could since I used pudding mix in the recipe.  But believe me, it’s well worth the calories.  It practically tastes like a milkshake.  It’s so good, so sweet, thick, cold and has the most wonderful cookies and cream taste.  I haven’t had a OREO cookie in years and this smoothie totally gave me the OREO cookie taste that I have been missing without actually adding OREO’s!

When I was in the baking isle of the grocery store the blue box with the word OREO was calling me!  I looked at it and thought, I don’t know?  The all of a sudden my hand put it in the cart.  I thought ok, why not?  Such a great idea!!!  Thanks to JELL-O I got to have my OREO cookie, without adding an actual OREO.  That’s a calorie savor since OREO’s are 53 calories a cookie and my guess I would need at least 3 cookies in this recipe, ok, maybe two, but either way, my smoothie has only 132 calories and it contains Chobani Greek Yogurt and milk!  I used plain Chobani, but I could only imagine how much better it would taste with Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt.  Oh my!!
