Hi Everyone!
Today is another edition of #SundaySupper and today we have to make a dish for a big virtual shower to celebrate babies, brides, & more! Our Host for this big party is Brandi from Home Cooking Memories. Boy, does she have a lot of work to do putting this party together, poor thing! I thought I would bring to the big party one of my favorite Spring and Summer drinks, which is simply Pink Lemonade!
Now my Pink Lemonade is not the traditional Pink Lemonade that you would simply make with a cup or more of sugar, and there is no boiling of water involved either, this is simply a combination of lemon juice, Diet Cranberry Juice, stevia and water. Give it a mix and you have yourself a 10 calorie cup of Pink Lemonade. Yes, you read that right, 10 calories! Talk about guilt-free! You can drink the whole recipe and it would only be 80 calories! So now at your next party, you can indulge a little bit on the treats. 😉
I have to tell you a funny story. I was originally going to post a recipe for Strawberry, Banana Vanilla Cupcakes, but the worse thing happened! They stuck to the muffin cup and they looked horrible. Oh, but they tasted great, but whats the point of a cupcake if you have to eat it from the wrapper, with a fork? So I tossed them and sat in my chair upset, debating on what am I going to make now? Well my Husband told me he was going to the store and asked if I wanted anything. Normally, I give him a list, but I just sat there sad, staring at a cupcake that wouldn’t come out of the wrapper. I got a kiss on the forehead and off my Husband went. I got up from my chair and looked in the refrigerator and then the idea came to me, lemonade! I love lemonade, my Husband loves lemonade, why not make that for the #SundaySupper? One thing we love in our house is our juices and drinks! Plus I thought it would be perfect to serve at a baby shower, bridal shower, Mother’s Day and even Father’s Day. You can’t go wrong with lemonade. Well as I was mixing it up, my Husband came in the door and guess what he had in his bag? Two containers of Simply Lemonade. I told you we like lemonade. lol I showed my Husband what I was making and he laughed. He asked for a glass and I told him no, because I needed to take pictures first. So he had his lemonade. Sorry Hubby! Blog first!
Then about an hour later, my Husband was pouring my Pink Lemonade into his glass. He told me it was really good and I have to agree, It has the perfect amount of lemon zip and sweet sugary taste. The cranberry juice gives it a little more zip and an added sweetness so you didn’t need to add as much sugar. I have to say cranberry juice and lemon, make a nice match. I only added 5 little packs of stevia, which is equivalent to 2 1/2 tsp. Not to shabby! When serving my Pink Lemonade, I couldn’t decide, which I liked better the hurricane glass or the mason jar? So I thought why not show you both? The hurricane glass would be perfect for a more adult party and the mason jar would be great for baby showers, kids parties and outdoor day events. I like them both, that is why I am sharing them both with you.
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 3 cups cranberry juice (I used Ocean Spray Diet (5 calorie a cup))
- 4 cups water
- 5 pkt. stevia to taste
- In a pitcher add all of your ingredients, mix well. Add ice cubes. Serve and enjoy!
I really need to host or go to a party, so I can serve these kind of recipes on a beautiful table with lots of goodies. It’s hard to set up for a party, when it’s just my Husband and I. Speaking of parties, be sure to check out all of the wonderful recipes that the #SundaySupper group is sharing!
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Toodles,
Jennifer
This Sunday, April 21st, the #SundaySupper theme is “April Showers” — and while party hostesses are going to love our event, you don’t have to be throwing a baby or bridal shower to enjoy the fun! We have food bloggers that will be sharing sweet treats, appetizer recipes, drinks, cookies, main dishes, and more. Great stuff for parties, but also for sharing at your own family table. This will be my first time hosting #SundaySupper, so I’m beyond excited for this event!

Appreciate the backstory, Jennifer on this pink lemonade. But you have provided a beautiful recipe for those in my family who love lemonade but are supposed to cut down on the sugar. Many thanks =)
Marta @ What should I eat for breakfast today says
hahaha, my huggy is in the same situation all the time, he has to wait for pictures first. I love the color, it starts to be hot over here so it will be a great treat.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
You can have some our heat, we went from winter, right in to summer!
Hezzi-D says
Pink cranberry lemonade sounds so refreshing. I love the cute pink polka dot straws you used!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Hezzi! I got the straws at Target!
Liz says
Perfect beverage for any shower! Just beautiful!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Ahhhh, thanks Liz!
Wendy (The Weekend Gourmet) says
This is perfect…a shower isn’t a shower without a pretty drink or punch! I love that this is pretty and low in calories…one of my rules is that I try not to drink my calories. Other than wine, of course!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Wendy, I’m with you, I try not to drink my calories, but I do eat them! he he
Heather @girlichef says
Fun! I can totally see beautiful pink pitchers full of this at a shower (or all summer long)!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Heather! 🙂
Merrie says
Hi – wondering if the diet Cranberry has any artificial sweeteners? I don’t want any other than Stevia. Where did you find the adorable straws? thanks!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Merrie! I just pulled out my bottle, these are the ingredints: Water Filtered, Cranberry Juice from Concentrate, Flavor(s) Natural, Pectin, Citric Acid, Fumaric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Sodium Citrate, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Red 40. The second to last ingredient is sucralose, which means there isn’t as much sugar in it.
I got my straws at Target! They are pretty cheap there! Check out the party supply section.
Thanks for stopping by!
Stacy says
Cranberry and lemons are a wonderful combination for a refreshing drink! If you really wanted to say party, you could serve it in a punch bowl. 🙂 But both of your glass choices are adorable.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Great idea to serve it in a punch bowl! I love that! If I have a party I’m stealing your idea!
Jen @JuanitasCocina says
This is SO my kinda drink. It’s hot in Texas…I clearly need a glass.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
I need to make room in the fridge for another pitcher. It’s hot here too, debating about putting the AC on.
Tara says
Great minds think alike Jennifer, lovely lemonade and pictures!!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Tara! 🙂 he he, I love your recipe!
Laura Dembowski says
I’m so sorry your cupcakes didn’t work out. I hate when I have a baking fail, but it unfortunately happens. Love the way you problem solved!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Laura! Those pesky cupcakes! lol Glad I made the lemonade!
Camille @ Growing Up Gabel says
What a fun way to make pink lemonade! And I just love the hurricane glass. My daughter is always wanting to have a tea party – I’ll have to make this for her next time.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Ahhh, you have a tea party with your daughter, that is so sweet!! I love that!!
Diana @GourmetDrizzles says
I’m with you… after reading all these #SundaySupper recipes, I’m in the mood to host a party! Sorry on your first attempt, but this second one seems meant to be. Can’t wait to try this, as there is nothing prettier or more refreshing than pink lemonade!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Diana! I want to host a party too! I just love all the fun finger foods and drinks everyone posted!
Paula @ Vintage Kitchen says
Absolutely can´t go wrong with lemonade! Ever! Sometimes plan b works just fine.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
I like plan B, and my Husband is still eating plan A. lol, he said the cupcakes turned out good, but they really do stick to the muffin cup, I just hate when that happens.
Nina says
Question Jennifer… For the 1 cup of lemon juice did you use fresh lemons or the bottled lemon juice like Real Lemon?
Can’t wait to try another one of your terrific recipes
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Nina, I cheated, and used real Lemon Juice. I didn’t have enough lemons to make a cup, but either one will work! Let me know how it turns out! 🙂
Courtney @Neighborfood says
What a refreshing and pretty drink…and that curvy glass looks awesome!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Courtney! I like that glass too! 🙂
Jennifer B says
I absolutely love pink lemonade and as it gets hotter and hotter here in Florida, I can definitely see myself making this drink! ….except, I’ll probably throw in some vodka… 😉
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
lol it would be good with vodka!
Kim Bee says
Squee, this is so cute Jennifer. I just love pink and lemons and lemonade. And you. Happy Sunday, well almost Monday now. I’m a commenting slacker today.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks Kim, I’m still working through everyone’s post myself. Happy almost Monday to you!
Sarah | Curious Cuisiniere says
Lovely idea for a lighter beverage! It looks beautiful!
Renee - Kudos Kitchen says
I’m a sucker for a mason jar but they both look great and your 10 calorie recipe sounds incredible. Truth be told, I’d add some vodka just to increase the calorie value.
btw, I had trouble with this weeks recipe and burned the heck out of them. I posted them anyway because I had no time to make something new. Next time, I’m not going to wait to the last minute to make my #SundaySupper submission. #epicfail
Nice save. Go you!
Renee Dobbs (@reneedobbs) says
What a refreshing beverage! Nice that it is not loaded with sugar so you can enjoy it as much as you want. I see this in my very near future.
Bea says
Pink lemonade is so pretty and your version sounds fabulous 🙂
Karen Hartzell (@InTheKitchenKP) says
I think we need to have a party with your pink lemonade and my thumb print cookies! Perfect for the warm weather coming!
Lori @ Foxes Love Lemons says
What a great, low-cal recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Susan says
I need to send this to my in-laws they are all about the Stevia, they even carry it around in a little dropper for when they go out to eat!
Laura | Small Wallet, Big Appetite says
Hurray for supportive husband’s! Don’t worry I had the exact issue with some cupcakes a few months ago, it was so frustrating. Glad you were able to come up with a great alternative.
Megan says
What a perfect pink lemonade! Is it bad I want to put vodka in it too?
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Nope not at all!
Nancy @ gottagetbaked says
My husband loves lemonade too, it’s just so darn refreshing! I love how easy and pretty this is. While I don’t care what I’m using so long as the drink gets into my mouth, I have a special place in my heart for that adorable mason jar 😉
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
I know how you feel about Mason jars, I feel the same! They are so adorable!
Linda says
Gonna give this a try!
