Happy Saturday!
So glad the weekends here! I have to tell you Guys I’m pretty stoked for June 29th! My Friend and I signed up for the Pretty Muddy 5k course in Sacramento, CA. It’s a course that has you walking, running and going through obstacles in the mud! Kind of like survivor, but you have food! lol This is always something I wanted to do, but never have! The best part is that it’s girls only!! Can you imagine me, crawling through mud, climbing ropes and who knows what else they have planned for us? Hey this gives me a great excuse to workout and get in shape. I don’t want to be pooped out before the first mile. They have several obstacles in the US. You should check them out to see if there is one near you. If your going to be in Sacramento, you should contact me, so you can join my team. It’s going to be lots of fun! Just think, that mud is good for your skin too! 😉 I’ll be sure to post about the event. I’ll get lots of pictures!
On a second positive note, I’m blonde again! If you remember last weeks post, my hair dresser colored my hair brown. Not anymore! It’s now blonde again. She said since we have been only touching up the roots this year, that my hair is not damaged, You can’ begin to imagine how much better I feel being blonde. Oh how I missed my hair! I feel like a happier and better person, I guess because I feel more like me!! What a huge relief! Hey, your probably thinking big deal, I know, I know, but for me it was drama!!! So glad life is back to normal! Or at least my hair is!
Another good thing that happened this week is HuffPost Taste featured my Pistachio Pancakes on there website this week! That made my day! I forgot about these pancakes, so that means I have to make them again!!
With this weeks recap, I have a ton of recipes here for you to check out, so this week I am not sharing with you a new recipe. But stayed tuned for tomorrow’s Sunday Supper recipe. It’s a good one and is so perfect for the big game!
Weekly Recap
Monday: Super Bowl Monday – This was a fun post for me! I didn’t realize how many wonderful little finger foods, dips and sandwiches I have made! I am looking forward to the game so I can veg out and relax! Go 49er’s!
Tuesday: Cranberry and Almond Puffed Wheat Bars – I was really shocked on how great the bars came out and even more shocked on how much everyone loved them! They are light, crunchy and I love the cinnamon and cranberries in them. Makes for a nice light snack!
Wednesday: Quinoa and Pineapple Salsa – This is a nice tropical little dish, that was perfect for my lunches this week. I figured this time of year, we could all use a little tropical flavor! When is Spring going to get here?
Thursday: Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel Bread – I love this bread! Thanks to Sally from Sally’s Baking Addiction for sharing her 30 minute pretzel bread with us! This is one pretzel bread that is a big hit in my house and at work! Best part, besides the gooey cheese and jalapenos, is that it’s done in less than 30 minutes! You can’t beat fresh-baked pretzels in 30 minutes!!
Friday: French Onion Dip – I found this recipe on Food Networks site and it’s pretty darn good! But it tastes sooooooo much better the ext day! I took this dip as my mid morning snacks all week!
Well that is it for me! I have lots and lots of cooking, baking and blogging to do this weekend! Enjoy the Super Bowl if your watching it!
Have a lovely weekend!
Toodles,
Jennifer
P.S. This weeks craving is the Almond Joy Cupcake
How fun to run in a muddy mess! I’m smiling about your hair, my daughter thought she wanted to color her hair to brown. My hairdresser said that once you’re blonde it’s really really hard to get used to yourself any other way. It seems that that is true ! I think you look so pretty in blonde and I can’t imagine you with dark hair, the blonde definitely suits you! Looks like you’ve had a very yummy week!
Thanks Chris! Tell your daughter to get the idea out of her head and don’t do it! She’s beautiful as a blonde!
