Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

December 18, 2012 By Jennifer @ PB and P Design 21 Comments

Hi Everyone,

I am just baking away today!!!  With all of these sweets breads and other goodies, I was in some serious need of some savory food that was healthy, guilt-free and tasty!!  I showed you a few weeks ago my Artichoke and Jalapeno Ranch Dip that I loved so much that I made it three times since I posted it.  Well I took that dip idea and changed it around and came up with one of my new favorite all time dips!!

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

This is my Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip!  Being from Buffalo, I love my chicken wings, but I will not eat them because of the calories!  Did you know that one chicken wing is about 100 calories and about 5 – 8 grams of fat?  No thank you!  You know once you have one wing, you can’t stop there.  Next thing you know you have eaten like 10 of them!!  So instead of wings, bring me dip!  Just as tasty, if not more and is only 110 calories for over 1/4 cup serving with less then 1.5 grams of fat!!  This dip is fantastic!!!

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

It’s made with fat-free cream cheese, plain greek yogurt, fat-free mayo, cooked chicken, Franks Hot Sauce, which is only the best hot sauce ever and reduced fat cheddar cheese!!!  This dip is creamy, spicy and oh so perfect!!  It’s not only good for dipping celery, carrots and chips in, but it is also amazing on a chicken wrap!  Yes please!  That is what I am going to do with it for lunch tomorrow!!

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

This dip is perfect for snacking throughout the week, serving at the holidays or I bet it would be a huge hit at a Super Bowl party!  It’s so easy to make too!  Just use already cooked chicken, which a rotisserie chicken would work great, mix it all together and bake for 30 minutes.   Cook it until the cheese is all bubbly!!  Wait for it to cool and serve!!!  Oh baby, this is what it looked like cooled a bit.

A spicy creamy baked dip that is made with cream cheese, greek yogurt, chicken and Franks Hot Sauce.
Serves: Approx 3 - 4 cups
Ingredients
  • 1 cup greek yogurt, plain
  • ½ cup mayonnaise, reduced fat
  • 4 oz cream cheese, fat free, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. ranch seasoning
  • ¼ cup Franks Hot Sauce (To taste)
  • 5 oz chicken, cooked, diced or shredded small
  • ¼ cup light cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Spray an oven safe baking dish with cooking spray
  3. In a bowl mix together yogurt, mayonnaise, cream cheese and ranch seasoning, until incorporated. Stir in hot sauce and chicken. Sprinkle top with cheddar cheese.
  4. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
Notes
I didn't measure the servings, since I didn't want to take apart the dip, so I made the whole dish to serve 6, which is approx. ¼ - ½ cup. Believe me the calories are pretty low on this one and the serving size is pretty huge.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

As I stated in my calorie section of my recipe above, I made this recipe to serve 6 people.  I honestly think it could easily serve 8.  I also think the calories are lower than what I specified, due to serving size.  The calories for the whole dish if you were to eat the whole recipe would be 663.6, which isn’t to shabby!!  Hey that is like 6 chicken wings!  lol

Have a great day everyone!  I have some homemade bread in the oven that needs to come out!  Have  a great day!

Toodles,

Jennifer

I simply cannot be trusted around dips. any sort of dips. and buffalo is my favorite kind. 🙂 Trust me, I am a dip hoarder at parties and you can’t peel me away. Love that this is a healthier version of the stuff. PS: “Toodles” – haven’t heard that in ages. Love it!

Buffalo Chicken Dip is one of my favorites, but I have zero control when I make it. I love this healthier version! Now I won’t feel so guilty when I eat half of it all by myself. 🙂

Buffalo chicken must be in the air… I posted about it today too! But it’s not as virtuous as your dip 🙂 I’ll HAVE to give this a try!

Happy first day of Spring! Though you wouldn’t k Happy first day of Spring! Though you wouldn’t know it in California. We are still getting rain and it’s in the mid 50’s. We should be in the 70’s by now. I wonder what the summer temps will be like this year?
🌺
Even though it may not feel like Spring, there is no reason why we can’t start prepping for it. It’s going to be time soon to plant flowers, add a floral wreath to the front door and of course a welcome mat to invite everyone to your home.
🌺
I wanted to share with you my new welcome mat that I got from @cocomatsnmore. They just had their Spring release and oh my gosh so many cute ones. I love there welcome mats. They are thick, bright colors and fast shipping. I absolutely love the flowers and the saying “Live Life in Full Bloom”. It’s so very true.
🌺
What are you most looking forward to this Spring?

This weekend I worked on my bar cart and let me tell you that I am loving the orange color and all the carrots and bunnies. So much fun!!
🥕
In the bowl on the tiered tray you see wooden carrots, those are from @krumpetshomedecor. They are so cute!! My dogs seem to be obsessed with them when I hung them on my cart, so I had to hide them. I’ll share them in stories today.
🥕
The carrot sign on the wall, little carrot sign on the tiered tray are from Krumpets Home Decor. Plus the wooden carrot banner is the Krumpets deal of the week. Plus you get an additional 10% off: PBANDP. Link in bio.

Happy Monday! I did a little bit of Spring cleanin Happy Monday! I did a little bit of Spring cleaning this weekend. I wanted to give my kitchen counters the less is more look.
🫧
I did have a very hard time taking my sink tray off the counter. I’ve had the tray there for years, so I thought I would change it up. Don’t be surprised if the sink tray makes its way back. 😂 I may add some herbs to my window sill for some fresh green color.
🫧
I used @cloth.bristle to clean my kitchen counters and sink. I love cleaning my sink with it. It makes it so sparkly and smells good too! Love that it’s all natural.
🫧
The beautiful spring tea towel is from my friend Alicia from @theblessedpeach.

The tray and canister is Targets Hearth and Hand. The marble paper towel holder is Target Threshold. The soap is Trader Joe’s!

Happy Friday! Our next winter storm is here! It is Happy Friday! Our next winter storm is here! It is just awful out there. Heavy rain, high winds and hail. This is not a winter that we are used to in California.
🥕
My husband and I are not fancy when it comes to eating dinner. Since it’s just the two of us, we never use the dining room table, but always eat at the kitchen counter.
🥕
There is no reason why we can’t eat fancy at the kitchen counter. I am using my new placemats that I got from @vmathome. They are thick, water, stain resistant and can handle heat up to 350F degrees. I love the color and style of the placemats. They have a wide variety of styles and colors, along with matching table runners.
🥕
I styled my table with bright spring colors that I was inspired by carrots. I still have bunnies on the brain. lol I had fun with this place setting, it’s so nice to have dinner with a little style then having it on a plain plate and paper napkins.
🥕
Have a wonderful weekend!!

I’ll be honest, I great intentions on decorating my house this weekend, but with the rain and cold, I got pretty lazy. I had packages that were supposed to arrive last week, but with the winter storms here on the west coast, my packages seem to be stuck in Nevada. This weather is so crazy!

Happy Wednesday! We are getting such crazy weather Happy Wednesday! We are getting such crazy weather. We are having extreme winds again and boy is it cold out. It’s only in the 30’s right now and tomorrows high is in the 40’s. Normally by now I am planting seeds in the ground and prepping for Spring gardening. I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Where’s the California Spring weather?
🐰
Since we don’t have Spring outside, I thought I would bring Spring in the house. I bought my first fresh bouquet of tulips. Aren’t they pretty? This makes me so happy. Plus I couldn’t resist bringing the bunnies out. They seemed to have multiplied since last Spring. lol
🐰
This Spring vignette was inspired by the beautiful welcome sign from @krumpetshomedecor. I love the bead handle and the cute little bunny on it. The sign is reversible, swipe to see other side. So you can use it all year. It would be beautiful in an entry, guest bedroom and on your front porch.

Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. Yesterd Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. Yesterday we watched on Netflix Your Place or Mine with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. If you like the classic Rom-Com movies you’ll enjoy it.
💗
I added a little of Spring decor to my bench in my living room. I will probably change this spot up once I pull my spring decor out, but for now I like it.
💗
It’s crazy how big this space looks in video, when it’s quite small. I call this my runway zone because the dogs run through this space like maniacs. So I have to keep it light with no breakables.
💗
The two large pillows are from Target and the little bunny pillow is from the Target Dollar Spot. The throw is from Pier1 when they had a storefront. The sign on the wall is from Krumpets Home Decor.
