Skinny Vanilla Latte

Hi Everyone,

Now that the weather is getting cold, I think I am ready to start making hot coffee drinks.  I wanted to start my first hot coffee drink with my favorite drink that I always order from Starbucks, the Skinny Vanilla Latte.  I love this drink!!!

This drink is pretty easy to make and to be honest I like it better than Starbucks,  It has more of a vanilla flavor and I can make it as sweet as I like.  The key to this drink is whipping the milk together.  Now I do have a milk frother, but a lot of people don’t, so I did this the old fashion way by adding non-fat milk to a sauce pan along with vanilla extract and sugar and whisk until the milk is warm and frothy.  This was the first time I frothed milk on the stove and it turned out pretty good!!!  I’m impressed!!

I can’t get over how the weather last week went from turning the air on, to turning the heat on today.  I am not ready for winter!  I think from this weeks recipes you will see I am starting to make comfort foods.  Plus with the Foodbuzz event I have been wanting hearty warm meals over light and chilled meals.  I think that is one of the few things I like about Fall and Winter.  I am truly a summer person!!  It can never be to hot for me, even if I complain about it!  🙂
