HI Everyone,
Today is my last post for the #SeriousSandwich Cookalong Bloggers! I have really enjoyed working with The Secret Ingredient and my fellow serious sandwich bloggers. It has been a fun journey and I learned so much from reading Emeril’s cookbook! So I bring to you sandwich #7 from Emeril Lagasse’s Kicked-Up Sandwiches Cookbook. This is Emeril’s French Bread Pizza Sandwich with Hot Italian Sausage.
I have to say I love this sandwich! The recipe called for Hot Italian Sausage but I used Chicken Sausage with Jalapenos and I sautéed it up with onions and peppers. Yes please!! Emeril recommended hollowing out the center of the french bread so the toppings have a pocket to sit in and you can get more goodies on your sandwich without it falling out. I love that idea!! I do that with my regular sandwiches but I never did it with french bread pizza! Not only do you get more filling, you have fewer calories and carbs!!
Since my Husband doesn’t care for sausage on his pizza, crazy man!! I made his the same style, but with pepperoni! He loved the hollowed out pocket because he got extra pepperoni! He LOVES pepperoni, I think more than bacon! Me, I’m a chicken kind of girl, the spicier the better!!
I want to let all participating bloggers know that it has been an honor to work with you!

Hi Jennifer,
It was soooo great meeting you at the Food Buzz Conference (We chatted Friday evening near the food tables). I hope you had a great time, I loved meeting other bloggers like yourself. Your blog is wonderful. This pizza bread looks sooooo yummy! Can’t wait to give it a try. I’ve been eating on the spicier side lately with my pregnancy, so this is right up my alley!
