Apple Frozen Yogurt / Weekly Recap

Hi Everyone,

Today I normally just do my weekly recap, but I thought, why not post a quick, easy, fall recipe that you could make today?  So for you I have my Apple Frozen Yogurt.

This frozen yogurt is super easy to make and did I mention really tasty?  I used Plain Greek Yogurt, but vanilla would work great too, spiced apple cider, cinnamon, fresh apples, whip cream and the best part, a crushed up cinnamon and sugar pita chip!  Yum!!

I made this recipe a couple of times this week to test it out and I found that a sweet apple work best.  In the picture I used a granny smith apple, there my favorite, but it was a little tart.  So I made it with an apple I got from Panera Bread and it was so much better.  I’m sorry, I m not sure what kind of apple they gave me.  Also you could use apple juice but I liked it better using apple cider, it added just a little bit more apple flavor to it.  I really enjoyed my frozen treat and I love that I can have a heaping bowl of it for around 160 calories!!

For the topping I used Fat Free Whip Cream and 1 crushed cinnamon and sugar pita chip which really added the nice apple pie flavor.  I think the crushed chip was my favorite part! I really love my quick frozen yogurts!  Just before I start my dinner, I make my dessert and put it in the freezer.  After I’m done eating dinner and the dreadful dishes are done, I pull out my dessert and simply enjoy!!

Now for this weeks weekly recap:

Monday:  Yogurt Cereal Bars / Secret Recipe Club – These bars are amazing.  They are made with corn flakes and the yogurt tastes like cheesecake.  I am honored to be a part of this special Secret Recipe Club.

Tuesday – Pumpkin Soup / Skinny Bitch Tuesday – This was my last post as part of my Skinny Bitch Tuesday’s.  This recipe is for a wonderful pumpkin soup that I simply enjoyed.  It was savory, filling and very healthy!!  Perfect for a cool chilly day!

Wednesday – Maple Glazed Chicken – This is a nice quick Fall meal that went perfect with my microwaved sweet potatoes.  The chicken is sweet, yet savory.  This was a family hit! Well, except my Husband had regular potatoes because he doesn’t like sweet!

Thursday – Almond-Poppy Seed Pound Cake with Lemon Neufchatel – Emerils Kicked-Up Sandwiches – I was shocked to find desserts in this cookbook and this pound cake was amazing!!  It was made with cake flour, poppy seeds and had a wonderful lemon and powdered sugar glaze.  I sandwiched it between cream cheese, powdered sugar and lemon juice mix.  Yum!

Friday – Barbecued Chicken Salad with BBQ Ranch Dressing – I LOVE this salad!  The BBQ Ranch Dressing really pulled it all together!!  I will be using that dressing on lots of other foods!  I could sooooo eat it with a spoon!!!  My Husband enjoyed the salad too, he ate it all, but left some lettuce behind.

Saturday – Apple Pumpkin Oatmeal Raisin Cookies – These cookies are highly addicting!  I can’t stop eating them!!  These cookies remind me of the fall, with fresh apples, pumpkin and hints of cinnamon and chewy raisins.  I’m so glad I remade them!

It’s getting late and I am hitting to many buttons and I think some of you may have gotten this post on Friday night!  Opps!  That’s what happens when you try to multi-task!  I think it’s time for me to go to bed!  🙂

Have a great rest of the weekend!

P.S.  This weeks craving is Apple Raisin Quick Bread.  Moist, sweet and so yummy!!  This bread will not disappoint!!

Ok, I’m back!  I went to Trader Joe’s and went crazy!!!  I bought lots of new items!! I updated my Trader Joe’s page, so check it out!  They have, get this, 23 new pumpkin items this year!  No I didn’t buy all 23, but I so could!!!  But I think I got some good ones!! Toodles – Have a great day!!!
