Chocolate Peanut Butter Frappe

Happy Monday!!

Today I am excited to bring to you my newest coffee drink, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Frappe!  I got this idea from Joanne from Eats Well with Others, when she commented on my Almond Joy Frappe post and said I should conquer the Reese’s Frappe next.  I took that idea and ran with it!!!  Thanks Joanne!

I have to tell you this does taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!!  As soon as I made it, I ran, no really, I ran to my Husband and said try this!!  He took a sip and said yuck!  It tastes like peanut butter.  I asked does it taste like a Reese’s?  He said uh huh!  Yah!  I did it!  Now your probably thinking, but he didn’t like it!  But one thing you may not know, is that he doesn’t like peanut butter!  Yes, he’s crazy, but ever since I started to make peanut butter he got so sick of it that I burned him out on it!!  Personally I don’t know how anyone can be burned out on Peanut Butter?  That’s just crazy talk to me.

But just to be safe I sucked it up (yah that was hard, lol) and made another one, just so I can have a second opinion. I asked Little Jenny if she would try it and you know she wouldn’t say no.  Who besides my Husband, would turn down chocolate and peanut butter?  She took a sip, looked at me and said “mmm, it’s really good”!!!  I asked does it taste like Reese’s?  She said yup, with just a hint of coffee.  She loved it!!  See what I have to do for you, just so I can have a second opinion.  It was pretty hard making this delicious drink just for you and you know what?  I loved every minute of it!  🙂

To describe this frappe, I would call it creamy, chocolaty, sweet and peanut buttery.  I honestly don’t taste the coffee too much, but that could be because I drink so much of it I don’t notice it, where as Jenny noticed it.   Remember to use coffee that you like when making my Frappe’s.  Nothing worse is when you go to make a drink and it doesn’t taste good because of the coffee.

To get the peanut butter taste, I used PB2 Powder.  PB2 is awesome in this drink.  I debated about using real peanut butter, but I wanted to watch the calories and I wanted something that would give me a strong peanut butter taste.  PB2 was perfect!  Just in case you’re wondering I bought my PB2 on Amazon.  Amazon is amazing, it has everything!  Whenever I can’t find something I just go there!

The calories are a little bit higher in this drink compared to my normal Frappe’s, but it’s still  has good stats!  This drink makes just over 3 cups and comes in at 118 calories for the whole thing!!  It has almost 5 grams of fiber, almost 10 grams of protein and on 3.4 grams of fat!  I’m actually pretty pleased with the nutritional value on this Frappe.  To be honest, I was a little scared to do the calculations.  I hate when I create something and come to find out it’s high in calories, fat and carbs.

I love making these drinks, but I am running out of ideas.   So you must tell me what kind of Frappe would you like me to make next?  I am having fun creating these, but I need more ideas.  I know Samantha said to make chocolate, so that one is on my list, but I need more!!  So please leave some suggestions in the comment section.

Time for me to sign off.  Have a great week!  I’ll be thinking of you while I am sipping my Frappe and enjoying my vacation!  🙂

Toodles,

Jen

P.S.  My Peanut Butter cup was just a little heavy for my Frappe.
