NOTE: When I set up this post, I put vanilla extract in the recipe, it’s suppose to be orange extract. Recipe is now updated. Sorry for the error.
Hi Everyone,
I am sooooooooo excited to share with you today’s Frappe! I was blending everything in my blender and I had to test taste it to see if I needed to add anything else and when I had that spoonful, I almost fell over from the taste. I created an Orange Creamsicle Frappe! Holy crapper dapper doooooo!!!
But before I tell you about my drink I am also excited to share with you my Foodie Penpal package that I got from Kelly from Cupcake Kelly’s.
She sent me some Bear Naked Chocolate Granola, Parmesan and Rosemary Popcorn, Justin’s Nut Butter Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and a Sweet and Savory Snack Bar. I LOVE everything I got! I always wanted to try Bear Naked Granola and this tasted so good. I loved it so much I took it to work to snack on there. I shared a little with my co-worker and she loved it. I haven’t had the popcorn yet, I’m saving that for movie night and I am taking the peanut butter cups and snack bar with me to Europe so I can snack on it on the plane. Kelly thank you so much! I just loved everything!!!! I can’t wait to dig into my new snacks!!
I had Jaime from Jaime Rose Knows, however she didn’t post her Foodie PenPal package this month. I got her sour dough bread from a local bakery, some nutty bites and balsamic glaze from Trader Joe’s, Kind Bar and a few other treats, that I can’t seem to remember at the moment.
I’m sad to say I have to skip out the month of July, but I’ll be back for a new Penpal for August!! July is just going to be too crazy of a month for me.
If your interested in being a Foodie Penpal you can check out all the information at Lindsay at the Lean Green Bean Blog.
When I was a kid I always loved orange creamsicles and today I was feeling like I needed to have one again. I couldn’t believe how creamy this drink is and how it is identical to an orange creamsicle. I even saved half my batch for my Husband to try when he got home from work. I gave it to him and I said here I made you a treat. I’ll be honest he gets afraid of some of my creations I make, but he bit the bullet and took a sip. He said this tastes just like a creamsicle. I asked do you like it, he said yah, it’s good! He doesn’t get as excited about food as I do. But now I know it really does taste like a creamsicle. he he
Sorry, I did not take to many pictures of my drink. It was starting to melt from the sun and I wanted to enjoy my drink. This batch makes 3 cups, two 1 1/2 cup servings. Each serving is only 70 calories. Not to bad! I used coconut milk, non-fat milk, orange juice, stevia and orange extract. I made it pretty quickly, which is nice for future making. If you love creamsicles you will love this drink!! I am thinking you could even make it in Popsicle form. That would be good! The best part is, that this is healthy and no sugar was added. Perfect for kids!
- 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk
- ¼ cup non-fat milk
- ½ tsp. orange extract
- 2 tbsp. orange juice
- ½ tsp. stevia (one packet)
- Freeze coconut milk in a shallow dish. Once frozen, leave on counter to thaw a bit or microwave for about 30 seconds until it's thawed enough for your blender to handle.
- In a blender add coocnut milk, milk, orange juice, orange extract and stevia. Crush/blend until incorporated about 2 minutes.
I have to tell you I am just loving creating these smoothies. There so good and so much fun! I already know what I am going to create next and all I can tell you about it, is that it was requested from some of you for me to come up with this drink. I searched high and low for ingredients, but I have them and I am ready to create it. I hope it turns out, I’ll find out tomorrow.
Have a wonderful Saturday!!!
Toodles,
Jen

Oh my gosh that frappe looks amazing! Orange creamsicle in this hot summer weather sounds to die for, I’ll have add this to my “Make ASAP” list 🙂 Happy Saturday!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Taylor, Just in case you make this recipe, I made an error, it’s orange extract you use, not vanilla. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Looks so good! One of the most popular posts on my site is my orange pushup smoothie..people went nutty over that thing. Yours looks so creamy! Gosh, I want it now!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
People do love the orange creamsicle flavor, but could blame them?
RC @ Just Add Cayenne says
Yum! I just had something with the orange creamsicle flavor and it instantly brought me back to the orange push-pop days! Your frappe looks delicious and, being so simple to make, I think I’ll do that…….NOW!!
Thanks and have a great weekend!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Oh my gosh! I love push-ups!! When I was a kid my parents would take us to Sherkston Beach in Canada and on our way home we would always stop at this little convenient store and I would always get a push-up. They were those generic red, blue and yellow circles on the wrapper. I was thrilled for a limited time they had Flintstone push-ups and the sticks were a character from the show. Sorry for my rambling! Have a great day!!!

It’s 108 here today! I NEED one of these, for sure. This makes my day, just looking at it is cooling me off!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Ohhhh, 108, yuk! I’m in California and it was 80 degrees. Crazy how the east coast is getting some hot weather and were not. It’s been a chilly summer so far.

I’m glad your husband was brave enough to give this creation a try! He would definitely have missed out on a great drink otherwise. It does look fantastic and like something our daughter would love. Thanks for sharing.

Kelly says
Any idea if is work work the same with soy milk instead of non fat milk? I love the creamsicle flavor but am lactose intolerant!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Kelly, Soy milk will work fine! It’s the coconut milk that really shines int heis recipe. Let me know how it turns out for you!!
Danijela says
Wow, this looks delicious. Coconut and orange, just perfect.
Mrs Z says
I wish people would post on here after they have tried the recipe. It DOES look amazing but I want to know how it tastes before I use ingredients that cost me money. Some coconut milk tastes like soap. Is there a certain kind that should be used? Help!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi! The only coconut milk I have ever used is Trader Joe’s unsweetened coconut milk. Whatever you do, don’t use the coconut milk in a can. You’ll end up with a horrible drink. If your not a coconut milk fan, you may want to try half the recipe with non-fat milk or whatever kind of milk you like. I am sure you will get the same type of result. Let me know how it goes for you. Thanks for stopping by.
