Hi Everyone,
Happy Saturday to you! Well this Friday was just one of those days. I went home sick from work, because I had the worse stomach ever! I am feeling better now, but I am just exhausted. For my afternoon snack I thought I would have a bowl of yogurt with some fruit and some Strawberry Quick Jam. Well, I didn’t close the lid to the jam very well and I dropped it on the floor. It made a mess!!! It was on the floor and ceiling of the kitchen, so I cleaned that up. First I have to tell you, my kitchen and living-room are connected by an entry way. Well I was walking through my living-room and eck!!! I looked up and there was strawberry jam everywhere. Now I am not kidding, it was everywhere. All over the walls, ceilings, floor, furniture, paintings and even made it to the hall way, which is about 10′ away and around the corner from where I dropped the jar. How is that possible? It looked like Freddie Krueger just came for a visit. All I know is my Husband is going to kill me! I can see spots on the ceiling where the jam hit, and there are a lot of spots. Here is just a tiny look of the corner of the entry way and kitchen.
Pretty scare huh? I hope he can get the jam off, or were going to have to repaint the ceiling. Can you imagine if we have to do that? If we do, he will really kill me!! Maybe I should move out before he gets home from work? I’m afraid! 🙁 We just re-did that room not to long ago. Maybe we can paint it red in there?
I thought this week, since I’m savoring my recipes for you I thought I would do a re-cap of my recipes this week, just in case you missed something!
I started out the week with my easy Waffle Cones. If you haven’t made these yet, you must! It’s so simple, that adults and kids will love them!
Monday I made my Skinny Vanilla Mocha Frappe, which seems to be my star recipe of the week. I love it! I make them at home and I have made them at work too!! Thank you everyone for your comments, I learned a lot from you on this one. Next time I am freezing my coffee in ice-cube trays to make for easier crushing.
Tuesday, I made my baked Brie with Cherry Quick Jam. This was just an amazing little appetizer. Perfect for a party.

Wednesday, I made Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cashew Butter, which is just simply amazing! This little nut butter went so quick in my house! I can’t get over how quick I went. I need to hit of TJ’s to get more cashews. This needs to be a staple in my house!

Thursday I made Pina Colada Oatmeal Cookies, which are a sure hit! I am very pleased with these cookies, there crispy, chewy and has a hint of rum in them! By the way, July 8th these cookies will be going up for a charity auction sponsored by Erin from Dinners, Dishes and Desserts to benefit High Park fire which is right outside of Fort Collins right now. It has been going for a full week now, and they say it could be another 2-4 weeks before it is fully contained. As far as I know 181 houses have been destroyed in the fire, with many more in its path. There are almost 1600 fire fighter working to try to put the fire out. That is the most damage in history for a Colorado fire, so stay tuned for more details on that.
For Friday, it was fend for yourself night so I whipped together a Chipotle Bowl in 3 minutes flat!!! It’s tasty, healthy and very filling!! One of my favorite meals!
Thats it for this past week. After looking back, I sure was in a snacky mood! Personally, I’d rather have snacks than a big meal. I have some great ideas for recipes this week and I can’t wait to share them with you!
I also want to announce that Tara from Chip Chip Hooray won the Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese. Congratulations!!!
I hope everyone has a great Saturday, I know I will because I plan on seeing, if I feel better, the movie Magic Mike. Did you know Mathew McConaughey had to get a wax job to do the film. lol Can’t wait to see it!
If your craving another recipe from me, you can find me over at Culinary.net. The picture below is what I made.
See you tomorrow!
Toodles,
Jennifer
Yikes…so sorry about the jam. My daughter dropped a bowl of applesauce in our kitchen when hubby and I were on a trip. I found dried spots of it for years after that…yours will be easier to see, so hope you can get it cleaned off.
Everything you made this week looks incredible! I’m especially eying the baked brie and the pina colada cookie 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks Liz. Ewww, applesauce. I was wondering why the dog was licking the wall and thats when I noticed. Eck!!!! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
Wow! Sounds like you had a difficult day. It’s a good thing you have the weekend to recuperate. The food looks wonderful!
Thanks Kristi! Things are a lot better now! 🙂
Bummer about the jam…if it’s not flat paint those Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges work wonders….unless it’s flat paint then you just rub the paint right off the wall. Unfortunately I know from personal experience. I’m gonna be making those pina colada cookies…yum!! Thanks!
It’s flat pain, so I washed with water, but there are marks. Hubbie didn’t notice yet! Of course if he reads this, he’ll find out!! I love the pina colada cookies, if you make them stop back and let me know what you think of them.
Oh no! I can’t believe the jam made such a mess! Hope you feel 100% very soon so you can enjoy the rest of your weekend Jennifer.
Thanks Heather! I can’t believe the jam made a mess like that too! I’m still find jam marks everywhere.
What a mess! I hope you feel better, but I’m guessing Matthew McConaughey will cheer you up?
Congratulations on making the foodbuzz Top 9!
Thank you!! Mathew McConaughey didn’t make me feel better because the movie doesn’t come out till this coming weekend! 🙁 I’ll just have to wait till Saturday to see it!
All the recipes of the week are looking awesome and loved the tom caprese salad. Nothing like having fresh tomatoes in summers, cheers !
I love summer tomatoes! It’s crazy how much better they taste!
