Howdy Partners,
Remember last weekend when I said I need to try to re-create my frappuccino that I got from Starbucks? Well I did it and it’s even better than Starbucks and whats even better, no sugar added to it! Yup you read that right!!
This drink is creamy with a hint of coffee and tastes like a coconut milkshake. Even the ice is creamy, if that is even possible. When I made this I kind of made a mess, but a tasty mess. My blender was not happy with it because it was all ice. I let it sit out at room temperature for a little bit to soften it up, but it still wasn’t happy. I did manage to get it as blended as possible, but I kind of had issues. If Husband is reading this, I want a new blender for Mother’s Day! Anyway, the sun melted some of it, but the rest of it I ate with a spoon. Trust me it sounds like a pain so far, but it’s not. If you have a blender that can chop ice, you will have no issues at all, otherwise get your spoons out. I promise this drink will not disappoint you!!
I mixed all my ingredients together in a pyrex measuring cup, than poured into a shallow plastic dish, covered it with a lid and placed in the freezer. Every couple of hours or so I would go back and scrap the ice with a fork. I made this drink with unsweetened coconut milk, instant coffee, coconut extract, unsweetened cocoa powder and one packet of Stevia. This is soooooo good! I already made this twice this week and couldn’t wait to share it with you!!
The calories on my drink is 120 for a little over two cups worth. Thats the same as a Starbucks Grande. The sugar is 2 grams, but the fat is 10 grams, but take in mind it’s a healthy fat!!!
Here are my exact stats: Calories: 120, Fat: 10, Sodium: 300, Carbs: 2, Fiber: 0, Sugar 2, Protein: 0
Let’s compare it to a Starbucks Grande, Light Coconut Frappuccino: Calories: 160, Fat: .05, Sodium: 180, Carbs: 38, Fiber: 0, Sugar: 32, Protein: 4
I like my stats better! Now this may not be the healthiest drink in the world, but it’s not bad! My calories are less, my sugar is way less and my carbs are way lower. I’m good with that. I know my fat is healthy and we all need healthy fat, so we have gorgeous skin and beautiful hair, plus it’s good for the body as long as you don’t over due it. Oh and mine is creamy smooth all the way through, right down to the last drop!! No water is added to my drink! Don’t add water, no matter what! You want to keep the creamy, coconut taste!!
- 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 packet instant coffee (about 2 tsp)
- ½ tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 drop of coconut extract
- 1 packet stevia (3.5oz)
- In a large cup (I used a pyrex measuring cup) add all your ingredients together.
- Stir well, don't worry if everything doesn't incorporate well.
- Place in a shallow freezer safe bowl. Every couple of hours scrape the mixture with a fork. Once frozen, leave on counter until it softens up a pinch. Pop into your blender and process.
I loved making this drink and I’m going to try to re-create even healthier drinks. What is your favorite Starbucks Frappuccino drink? Is there one you want me to try to re-create? Just let me know! I’m on a mission.
Well my friends, I’m going to go. It’s still light out and I want to get a walk in. I have slacked bad on exercise this past week and I do need to do something! Have a great day!! Now don’t forget to tell me your favorite Frappuccino drink you want me to recreate! This is fun for me!
Toodles!

Oooohhh! I have some almond milk in the fridge, wonder how that would be with a drop of almond extract and some cocoa powder instead of the coffee… I see an experiment in my future! And when I get some coconut milk in the house, your original is next. So glad I found your blog (through Pinterest).
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Almond milk would taste wonderful in this drink! I love experimenting with drinks too! Let me know how it comes out! Glad you found me on Pinterest!
Erin Nordquist says
You should try freezing your mixture in an ice cube tray. That way the smaller chunks would be easier on your blender.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Thanks! I actually have coffee in my ice cube tray right now! 🙂

I love your blog, so many great ideas. I just nominated your blog for the Versatile Blog Award. Congratulation!!
Nana Phyllis says
I’m freezing ingredients to make this. I halved it to freeze since the light coconut milk I found had many more calories. We don’t have a TJ nearby! I’m thinking of adding pineapple chunks?? We’ll see.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Ohhhh, pineapple chinks would be amazing in this drink!! See if you can find unsweetened coco nut milk. It’s in a carton, located near almond and soy milk. But Lite canned coconut milk will taste amazing in this drink!!
Tammie kish says
My favorite is the chocolate chip frappe
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Yum! That sounds delish!
Lynne says
I love mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks. Please help me. I need to find one that I can make at home, with less sugar and easy to make
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says

Rita says
Where does all of the sodium come from? Looks scrumptious!
Sarah Grace says
I’m Going to the store tomorrow to get these ingredients!! Sounds so amazing… Does it matter what kind of instant coffee? Also, do you have to freeze the ingredients first? Can’t wait to try it, thanks for sharing!
Amanda says
Could you freeze in ice cube trays then pop them into the blender when frozen? It would allow for making big batches on the weekend for quick smoothies on the go throughout the week!
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Amanda, I have never done that, but several of my readers told me that they freeze there coffee in ice cube trays. They say it makes it so much more easy for blending and great for quick use. I would say give a try, I know it will work.
Rachel s says
Question…for the instant coffee…do you mean like 2 TBSP of it made like liquid coffee or do you literally mean like 2 TBSP of the instant coffee grounds right from the bag? Thanks! 🙂
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi, I add 2 teaspoons right to the mixture and freeze everything. Then I slightly thaw it on the counter and place in a blender to freeze. Let me know if it turns out for you.
Chris says
This was great! Through everything in my blender with ice since i forgot to freeze it the night before. Didn’t have coconut extract so used vanilla and added a scoop of protein powder. Loved it. Thanks for the recipe!
Mende says
I cannot wait to try this!
Lisa says
WHAT BRAND OF COCONUT MILK AS 2 CARBS FOR 2 CUPS?
Sabine says
Hey, I’m from Germany and I just found ur homepage… it’s amazing… just one question. Do you think it’s possible to use regular ice-cubes… I mean that you throw all ingredients (not frozen) in the blender with some ice-cubes and mix everything at once? Do you think it still would taste good? Because that would safe some time 🙂
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi, I think that would work out just great. I had a lot of people tell me they used ice cubes and they were happy with the results. Enjoy!
Ashley says
Hi there. Do you have an Instagram account?
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Yes I do; https://www.instagram.com/pbandp/ Thank you for asking.
Michael says
Sounds Amazing!… though…
2 cups of Coconut Milk (Native Forest as example – some are higher) has 840 Calories and 90 grams of fat 🙂
Leonor Navarrete says
What kind of coconut milk do you use? I love this recipe hopefully I can make it soon.
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Leonor, I used Trader Joe’s Coconut Milk from the carton. It is only 50 calories a cup. There are other brands like Silk or SO Delicious. You can find it in the non-dairy section, normally in the cereal isle of the grocery store. Hope you enjoy the drink.
Cat Owens says
This looks pretty amazing. Have a few ideas to add tot his delight. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Donna says
Can’t wait to try the recipe though just curious – you say it “serves 2 heaping cups” so does that mean the recipe is 2 “servings”???
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Donna, The recipe is one serving. enjoy!
Brianna says
Do you used canned coconut milk?
Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers says
Hi Brianna, No I use coconut milk from a carton. About 50 – 60 calories a cup.
Brianna says
Ok great thanks this sounds delicious 🙂
