Simple Croutons

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share a quick post, encase you plan on making your croutons this Thanksgiving.  Here is a simple recipe for you.

I used one loaf of Alvarado St.  Essential Flax Bread, but your favorite bread will do.  Cut the crusts off, and dice into squares.   Place in a medium size bowl.

Add 3 Tbsp. of Melted Better and 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp. of dried parsley.  Mix together and place in a 300 degree oven for 15 minutes.

After the first 15 minutes, flip and bake for another 10 – 15 minutes.  For me it was 25 minutes total time.

I made 7 cups of croutons, since it’s only Hubby and I this year.  Make as much as you need for your recipe.   So you may need to double up on the ingredients.

Homemade Croutons

1 Loaf of Alvarado St. Essential Flax Bread (213 grams or 7 Cups ) or any bread you like.
3 Tbsp. Melted Butter (Used Brumble & Brown)
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 tsp. Dried Parsley

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300

Cut the crusts off your bread, slice bread into little squares, toss in a bowl. Add melted butter, garlic powder and dried parsley. Mix, place on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Check on how brown your croutons are, if still moist, bake for another 15 minutes. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.Once cool, store in an air tight container.

Makes 7 Cups

Calories are depended on what bread you use.  I used what I have, plus I’m the only one in the house who loves stuffing.  So this recipe s all for me!!

I’m going to finish the rest of my stuffing tomorrow, which I’ll share the recipe later.  Now be sure to store your croutons in an air tight container.

Happy Thanksgiving, now time to have some Taco Dip and Veggies.
