What Makes You Great? Plus a Giveaway #GreatGrains

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Post Great Grains Cereal for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hi Everyone,

Today my post is a little different than normal.  I usually post a recipe, but today I thought we could discuss why you are so great?  Don’t be shy, you know you’re a great person. In all actuality this is kind of hard for me to write, since I am not modest and I’m kind of shy when it comes to compliments.  But I thought I would give this a try.

Well what makes me great?  I don’t think I’m great, but I think I am a true and genuine person.  I try my hardest to be the best person that I can be.  I hold the door open for strangers, I always say thank you, I appreciate the small things that people do for me and above all I try to make people happy.  How do I do that?  By showing appreciation and gratitude!   Other small things that I do is smile, share a joke, try to cheer people up and my biggest thing I do to let someone know I care is bake or cook for them.  Does this stuff make me great?  Maybe?  But to me, this is life and this is who I am.

Great Grains Cereal

I teamed up with Post Great Grains Cereal to show why we are great.  They did a survey with a 1000 woman 40 and up about why they are great.  Here are some of the results.  I think these are remarkable.

  • 73 percent of women have reinvented themselves after turning 40.  In fact, 80 percent of women love themselves more now than they did 10 years ago, according to a survey by Wakefield Research for Post Great Grains Cereal.

  • As for those “learning experiences” along the way? Maybe they weren’t so bad after all.  86 percent of women agreed that their mistakes that led to failures were worth the learning experience

  • While it’s important for women to surround themselves with people who will boost them up, that boost doesn’t always have to come from friends and family.  When they need a good laugh, 59 percent of women would turn to their significant other.

Great Grains Cereal

While making my post I also did a little sampling of Post Great Grains Cereal.  They have 8 varieties of cereal.

  • Great Grains Digestive Blend Berry Medley
  • Great Grains Digestive Blend Vanilla Graham,
  • Great Grains Protein Blend Honey, Oats and Seeds
  • Great Grains Protein Blend Cinnamon Crunch
  • Great Grains Cranbery Almond Crunch
  • Great Grains Crunchy Pecans
  • Great Grains Raisins Dates & Pecans
  • Great Grains Banana Crunch Nut

I didn’t get to test them all but I did try a few, like the Digestive Blend Vanilla Graham, Protein Blend Honey, Oats and Seed and Cranberry Almond Crunch. I have to say, I thought the vanilla one would be my favorite, but you know what I fell in love with the Honey, Oats and Seeds.  It tastes like it is homemade. The wheat flakes and clusters taste like they are toasted and there are little almond slices and pumpkin seeds.  I love it on my yogurt or just grabbing a handful.

Great Grains Cereal

I am pretty happy with the variety of Post Great Grains Cereal, especially the Digestive and Protein Blends.  they are full of 5 – 6 grams of fiber, 8 grams of protein and contain whole grains that help support a healthy metabolism.  Score!!  Anything to whip up that metabolism.  🙂

One last thing I wanted to share with you is this video from Great Grains, which is woman sharing why they are great!  I love it and I think you will too!

  5. I am great because, I try to always be positive, and look at the bright side. Whether it is a situation, or people you have to see the good in things. I go to work with a smile every morning, and spread it to those I work with. I learned from my Mother, and Grandmother whom I recently lost at 94, that you have to live each day to it’s fullest. I have always said I hope to be as feisty as my Granny was when I reach her age.
