Blueberry Peach Breakfast Smoothie

Hi Everyone and Happy Saturday to you!!

We all love breakfast, we all eat breakfast, don’t we?  I think not!  I am even guilty of that and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.  Why do I skip it?  Probably because I’m to busy, to lazy or feeling a tad guilty because I ate too much the night before.  Well not anymore!  You realize breakfast is the most important meal of the day and shouldn’t be skipped.  After all it’s your morning fuel to get your engine up and running.  Since September is National Breakfast month, I teamed up with Driscoll’s Berries and Sneaky Pete’s Oat Beverages to help jump-start your breakfast!!

I wanted to create a breakfast that you can whip together in a matter of minutes, tasted good, filling, healthy and something that kids would love!!   After all kids need a good breakfast so they can focus on school and not their stomach!   That’s why I created my Blueberry Peach Smoothie!  This smoothie is creamy, thick, filling, loaded with peach flavor with a hint of tasty blueberries!   Plus it has 4 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein!   The fiber is one of the reasons why I like to use Sneaky Pete’s Oat Beverage in my smoothies.

Have you ever seen Sneaky Pete’s Oat Beverages? It actually has oatmeal in it! But looking at it you wouldn’t know it! I guess that is why they call them Sneaky Pete’s!! Sneaky Pete’s Oat Beverages comes in 5 flavors, raspberry, mango, peach, apple, and grape. I haven’t tried the grape or raspberry but they will be next on my must try list!!  I already have a recipe in mind with the apple flavor.  The nutritional stats are pretty good too! Only 40 calories for 12oz serving, 3 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugar and 0 fat!!!  Perfect on it’s own or in one of my smoothie recipes!  🙂

I made this smoothie as an afternoon snack and gave one to my Husband. He LOVED it! Which really surprised me because their is yogurt and oatmeal in it.  I have made smoothies in the past with yogurt and oatmeal and he turns his nose up to it!  So I am happy to make a good for you smoothie that he doesn’t even realize how good it really is!  he he  I got one over on him!!  Just don’t tell him!

I am so happy that Driscoll’s asked me to promote National Breakfast month!  After all breakfast really is my favorite meal of the day!  Give me a fat bowl of yogurt and berries and I am truly happy!!!  That’s my go to breakfast!  I have that combo everyday for snacks and I never get sick of it!   I swear I should put some stock in strawberries because I probably eat about a half a case a week.  I’m not kidding about that!  I’m writing this at 10pm at night and I’m wondering is it too late to have a big luscious bowl of juicy berries with a dollop of yogurt?   Hmmmmm….  Darn it, I am!

Well my Friends, I am off, one more post to write before bed!  Friday nights are my crazy busy writing nights.  I like to write when everyone is in bed so I don’t have to many interruptions.  It’s hard to concentrate when my Husband has Guy Fieri on TV!!

Have  a Great weekend!

Toodles,

Jennifer
